My detective is "smart and charming". I am still buying the smart and charming skills and unless I subscribe, I won't be buying any tough skills for a while.

I was given a Black Trench coat as a reward for a favor today which gives me +2 tough points (no negative pts on smart or charm).

My question is this:
Should I keep this coat or sell it ($800) and buy something that gives me smart and/or charm points?

I didn't mean "skill points". I'm talking about the adjustment to the skills where I said points. Thanks!

Sell it, but don't waste the money. You'll find charm gear from favors as well. The stuff at the detective stores really doesn't tend to be worth the money. You get much better items from the favors.

If you do want to purchase an item, save your money and check out the factions. When you have a +30 standing with them they give you a pretty substantial discount and most of their higher level items are worth the cost.

Thanks!!! I have gotten charm gear on the 2 other favors I did. I received the same gear from both (which only gave me 1 adjustment) so I sold one of them. I'm almost halfway to the +30 with a faction so maybe soon....

Thanks again!

Also, as you increase in level, your favors (very slowly over time) become harder cases and also yield better gear as rewards.

I see two things from your profile. One, you're making friends with the DAB at the moment. They do have a couple of things in their stores that you may be interested in. The prices are going to be probably significantly higher than what you've been expecting from the Detective Store, so save your pennies now. You might also check out Big Lucy's Cabaret. Their merchandise changes constantly, but you may find something of worth there.

Secondly, you appear to have taken the plunge and subscribed. Congratulations. While the agency you're with is new, they may be able to help you out with getting ahold of equipment. You can also trade with your new agency teammates for stuff they don't want or need.

Again, congratulations and good luck! :-)
