What's the general opinion about twinking? Personally I'm against it. I just wanted to hear what people think. Also I'm aware that you can't access higher level cases until you reach a certain amount of experience, but that limit is loose.

For those of you who don't know what twinking means, it's when you have more than one character and give money and/or equipment from one of your characters to another to give it an advantage. It's normally used to give powerful equipment from high level to low level characters that normally can't access it in the game because for some reason it's not available to them.

Look it up in wikipedia or some similar source if you want to read more.

OK, since R Anstett brought it up (though I wish he hadn't), might as well link to this bit of history.
But be forewarned, this was a HUGE debate that left many people upset and caused Ben to have to create this post.

"4) A single player should not be the primary controller of any more than two detectives in a single agency. The only time when we can positively identify individual players is at the subscription purchase. So in practice, this is interpreted to mean that no more than two detectives in a single agency can be subscribed by the same person. "

I see. That means I can't pay for a friend's subscription. Or rather more than one friend's subscription.

Whoa! I started reading that thread you linked, Arabella, and I could feel it! All the way up my spine. That felt disturbing to say the least, so I quit reading. I've been through that kinda debacle before, in other communities. I agree with posters saying "don't bring this up again". We'll all regret it.

Jim, while twinking is common in games such as World of Warcraft, Everquest, etc., it's relatively unknown as a concept here. Especially in the context it's known in those other games.

As was mentioned earlier, our gear really has little to do with our skill at completing cases. Some of the best gear to be had is the gear I received when I first signed on with an agency and wore until this latest expansion gave us more to choose from. As for doing cases we haven't really the skills to complete, they don't even open up for us until we reach a certain xp level. So, a person with 10k xp simply cannot open, let alone complete (with or without help) an AI case.
