I didn't realize it was suddenly "disrepectful" to highjack posts. It is something that as has always been done.
There's no disrepect ntended and some people have a smile.
I think someone summed this up recently quite well, something about how sometimes it funny and sometimes it's just annoying or something.

When you're in a big community, there is always going to be someone or something that annoys you and nothing was malicious or petty until the couple of recent posts. It's those posts which sadden me and that I feel are disrespectful.

If anything, hijacking serves a purpose of bumping up a thread so that people that might not have noticed it the first time can notice it later.

Hijacking of threads is just a part of the community. I don't think it's disrepectful or that big of a deal.

I *did* in fact agree with roamie, and the shaking of the fist was just as much aimed at myself as anyone else. Don't assume I suffer from amnesia, Stooby. ;) I know well that I was part of the hijacking.

From what I understood SoM is gonna be placed in the 50s rather than the 20-30s that Noir is meant to be placed in. However, the feel I get from some pictures and text around Noir is that a lot of people have misunderstood (or subconsciously try to change) what time it's meant to be set in, so the place is an interesting time warp set in the "twefties". So hopefully, since I assume it's a misunderstanding, the addition of the new game will separate the two different player types so each get their own and everything sorts itself out nicely.

Or I should say I agreed with roamie in that the thread should be put back on track. Nothing more nor less.

Hijacking threads is now and has always been disrespectful to the person who started a thread and to the people who respond to the topic. And there are much better ways of bumping a thread.

I hope this thread gets back on topic.

I have played the Free cases on Gumshoe, but am not willing to pay $5 to $7 for each case. I hope that the new Sleuth is on a subscription basis.

Perhaps so, but I still think intent matters. And the intent was not there to be "disrepectful". Whereas I think that posts talking about hijacking were quite disrepectful.
Also, it's a natural and organic process for posts and conversations to evolve or change.
It's really interesting actually, researchers have found that a dinner conservation can end up changing numerous times as one person responds to another.
And one person responding to another was what happened here (as what happens with public notice boards) not a malicious attempt to disrecpect Ran, Sunny and Ben.

And Stooby, I guess you're the better wo(man) than I. I found a lot of posts to be entertaining rather that pathetic. :)

There are nicer ways to ask people not to hijack.

Two wrongs don't make a right here, guys :)

I wasnt asking anyone not to hi-jack. I just said it was disrespectful and it is. And as usual, certain people are not allowed to voice their opinions around here without being attacked for it.

Conversation can evolve, but this digressed to "pathetic". So please put it back on track. Its exciting to learn about the aspects of the new game and to hold a discussion about it.

I agree Roamie, and I also think that when posts get hijacked, they're interesing too. :)

I never said that you weren't allowed to voice your opinions, I think it's important people post on the boards. As you may know Roamie, I often invite newbies or other people who have been around a long time but hardly post to post.
I too, get sick of the same faces on the boards, but that will never change until more people post. And I can't help the fact that they don't.
I've made a huge effort to get many different and diverse people to post and a lot just want too, as they're happy just to play a game or read the boards. :)

And quite frankly, I think the whole "as usual certain people are not allowed to voice their opinions is gettin old."
You're more than welcome to post Roamie. However, just as you disagree with me, I disagree with you.

I do understand where you're coming from that it may be disrepectful except these are public message boards where the public posts and we all have our own values about what is disrepectful or not. As I stated, I believe intent is needed. And as I've also stated before there have been times when I have been disrectful. However, I have apologised.

And I don't think I said you were not asking people not to hijack the post, I was merely stating I don't think ANYONE intends disrepect and that I didn't think it was a big deal because posts get hijacked all the time.

No one is saying you guys can't have fun having pointless conversations just stop nickin threads, it is impolite when people heck back here regularly for any updates on SOM and to ask questions. There are plenty of other places to do it. Lets get this back on topic.

So once again I think we would all like to know about the subscription methods and costs, any news on that? Also does anyone know if the sound will be essential to play it? Or just be for atmosphere?
