Clammed Suspects

I had an idea for a work around when your suspects clam before you get all suspects identified.

Maybe if a townsperson mentions them they show up on your map, similar to a client in that you cannot accuse without a motive, but you can at least talk to them. In a real case if the bartender said "Joe thinks he knows who the killer is" any detective worth their badge would go talk to Joe.

The downside would be you would end up probably wasting a lot of questions needed for alibis on finding your suspects, and it may or may not even prove a benefit if the hints point toward people you already have.

I also don't know how hard it would be to program.

Any ideas?

It wouldve helped in a case I am on now! One totally wouldn't talk, one gave me motives, but I couldn't get their alibi, the other I broke in and read another suspect, but he wouldn't talk.. So I was missing two suspects (Really Hard case). And one of the towns people did mention one. It definately could have narrowed my field down... Right now I am debating on an educated guess or not!!

rivergallery, have you gone around and asked suspects (that are not clammed) if they have any reason to suspect your remaining suspects? SOmetimes that helps, but use it as a last resort, because you are using up your last chances to get them to talk before they clam.

Use your contacts like priest or waitress sometimes when you ask them if they know anything about the case they will reveal another suspect
