Thanks to Admin for posting resumes. It is a better idea than listing all detective names (for those that wanted privacy).

Bad News:
There seems to be a bug with the resumes. I know of at least 2 detectives, that show them listed in agencies they never joined.
I believe it is tied to "gift subscriptions". When a person buys someone a gift subscription, it automatically links the accounts. So, now the gifter and giftee have the same resume.

I am sure Sleuth Admin is working on correcting this, but I wanted to let everyone know, before we go around accusing people of "infiltrating our agencies" :D

Before this, directors had no idea which agency a person had been to last. Your method does seem a bit involved to be honest. Firstly, to join an agency for each detective would involve paying a subscription each time, which could get pricey. If they transfer their subscription, the details of their old agencies follow them. So, unless someone wanted to spend $7.00 a time just to steal, its unlikely.

I agree with Greyling. There are too many inconsistencies or ways around this for this feature to be useful. It just clutters up the detective page IMHO.

Hers is an idea for an evil detective. Wait until you have been promoted so that you can withdraw money from the safe. Take all of the money and leave the agency. The agency goes bankrupt and is closed after two days. No evidence remains since the agency does not exist anymore. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Ok, ok. So there are a couple more limitations to the resume that have to do with data that simply isn't available in the database, because it hasn't been stored.

1) The game does not store who founds an agency, so if you were one of an ageny's founders, it does not appear on your resume.
2) No agency join records were stored before Jan 17th, 2005. So, earlier records are not visible in the resume
3) De-funct agencies do not appear in the resume.

The Resume page has been modified to spell out these limitations.

I still think this is a useful tool for directors, but it does suck that those records aren't available.

Hmm, just to play the "advocate" here, but with "1) The game does not store who founds an agency, so if you were one of an ageny's founders, it does not appear on your resume" it will be possible for someone who's ripped off an agency in order to start their own, to do this and afterwards do the same again without anyone being able to see that they did in fact start their own. And wasn't this one of the main reasons why these resumes were added?

I think that one of the driving factors to adding resumes was to be able to check on thieves.

It appears that with the restrictions it will not be as useful for that purpose, primarily becuase it does not show the agencies you create.

However as an additional resource to see more information about other detectives and their history in Sleuth I think it works well.

We all knew there is no technilogical trick to stop bad things from happening to agencies. It will always fall back to our own skills as detectives and directors.

I know that many of you know I am not a keen to change. I fully admit that, and I am really working on this (anyone else remember when the sidebar disappeared? I was distraught) While admitting this, I am still very against this policy. The only reason I am against this policy is that I feel it gives away too much information. I am a very private person, and do not like my "personal" information given out. I know many will say this is not personal, but my detective is part of me, it is a piece of my history, and I hope, will stay a strong part of my life.

I REALLY wish we could turn this feature on or off. If not allowing everyone to do this, at least for detectives who are older than, such and such days. This would still help keep track of those constantly creating new detectives to steal, while allowing the older detectives their privacy. I can understand why this is needed, but I do not believe it is necessary for everyone.

Or, another suggestion I have is to only have your resume show when you have recently quit an agency (say less than 90 days). This would allow Directors to see your previous history, and protect others privacy.
