This is a very simple and fun game. The first person makes a wish, and each following person finds some way to corrupt the wish and then makes a new wish. For example:

Person 1. I wish I had a dog

Person 2. You have a dog, but it dies the day after you get it

I wish I had a muffin

Person 3: You get a muffin, but you drop it and have to throw it away.

And so on.

Your firt wish to corrupt is this:

I wish I had a new car.

You finally manage to buy yourself a sweet little pony. The sweetest pony that you could possibly dream of, with a magnificently handsome face.

However, once you get it back to your paddock you realise that it only responds positively to the song "My Lovely Horse" by The Divine Comedy (Neil Hannon = musical genius) as featured in the tv comedy Father Ted.

After the first 3000 or so play throughs of that song, it starts to drive you mad (which is a sad thing because it is a brilliant song). You are then forever torn as to whether to get rid of this sweet little pony and are wracked with the possible guilt.

That and you also find you have an allergy to ponies (but this reason is far more boring and practical).

I wish I could play the guitar as well as someone like Jimi Hendrix or St Vincent.

You can play guitar as well as Jimi Hendrix, when he was 2.

(side note - Jimi Hendrix aged 2 could still probably have out-guitared the world!)

You managed to cure the common cold but somehow manage to introduce a less-common cold to take its place. Either way, tissue manufacturers are not keen on the idea.

I wish for a wish that is uncorruptable.

(side side note - Hendrix only started playing when he was 15. Awesome to think how good he was in so short a time!)

You think of an utterly incorruptible wish. Whatever it is, it can't be written here - every time you try, the thought of destroying this thread compels you to stop!

I wish that I could travel instantly to wherever I wanted to go

The good news is you can instantly travel to wherever you want. The bad news is the instant you arrive you are instantly returned to wherever you came from, making your trip a total waste of an instant.

I wish I could have my own personal three star Michelin chef to cook for me for the rest of my life and never have to wash another pot or pan.

Congratulations - during a contest, you have won what you exactly wanted - a three star Michelin Chef to cook for you for the rest of your life and a dish washing machine.

However, what you didn't know is that everything has a price... literally - your chef only wants the best of the best and orders caviar, lobsters, venison (you name it, he will order it) and at the end of the year, you're financially broke. And to top it all off, your dishwasher broke.

Wish granted, unfortunately it is the worst President in history named Barack Obama. He is convinced that global warming is a bigger theat than terrorism.

You become Einstein's intellectual superior. And then you start wondering about the meaning of life and everything becomes pointless and you end up an alcoholic.

I wish I could wish for more wishes.

You get all the wishes you could wish for and they all come true. Then you realize you have nothing left in life to look forward to, everything becomes pointless and you end up an alcoholic living at the local shelter.

I wish my husband was a more cheerful guy. :/
