Sir Paul, you next contact will definitely be one of those. As Ara said above, you get one PE contact, and one non PE contact. (PE being physical evidence) So, barber, banker, shoemaker or tailor will be your second and final contact in New York.

Sir Paul,

I can tell you now that you will be waiting a long time for your PE contact. I read somewhere on the boards that you get your first contact quickly and your second after a bit of experience. I just got mine tonight and I have 38040 experience points!

I, too, have the Music Teacher as my WE contact. I have found she has not been extremely knowledgeable in that department, but she has talked a few fled suspects out of hiding for me. Maybe a coincidence.

Sorry, Barry, but that is not true all the time. My very first Sleuth contact ever was the banker in NY. I can;t remember exactly how old I was, but I know that I was such a newbie, that I did not know what a contact was!

It's pretty random.

Ms. Andrea,

I think I was misunderstood. Since Sir Paul has his first contact and it's the music teacher, a WE contact, his second contact will be a PE contact. I meant his PE contact. Not all PE contacts. I hope that clarifies.

I am sorry, I don't understand your statement at all..sorry.

What I mean is that sometimes second (and third and fourth) contacts come pretty quickly, specially if you are not trying for a particular one.

I was pretty young when I had about 4 contacts total and I've had all 8 for a while and I am not very old..less than 100 days.

I have to agree with Andrea on this one. If you look at some of the newbies, you'll see that lots of them already have a PE contact. In fact I believe the first contact I ever got (with my first detective) was the barber in NY, and it was fairly quickly. I believe that when you get a contact, PE or WE, is random.

I'm pretty sure that as far as contacts go, the only thing that isn't completely random is the fact that the odds increase overall after (I believe) 150,000 XP.

If someone older and wiser knows otherwise, feel free to rip to shreds. :)

I think you misunderstand what Barry is saying, girls.
He is saying that your SECOND contact might take longer. In this example its a PE contact. But it could also be WE one. The point is SECOND.

That said, Im not sure its true... LOL I think its random. some people get it fast and others wait long time. Maybe it has to do with how many favors you've quitted. But no one knows...
The chance should indeed increese after 150,000 exp But still some are waiting... Espescially if they try for a certain contact.

Ms. reda,

You are correct in interpreting what I am saying.

I don't remember where I read it but there was a post somewhere (maybe in the subscriber's section or a very old Welcome Newbies entry as I recently re-read that one front to back) from Ben who said that the second contact is more difficult to come by. That, while the first contact happens pretty quickly, the second will take much longer.

If that has changed, I don't know. Only Ben knows.

I was trying to manage Sir Paul's expectations as it took me a great long while for me to get my second contact.

Ms. reda, I thank you for stepping up for me. A true lady you are.
