Mystery Fiction Story

I love, love, love the idea of writing a mystery story. But, I had an idea that instead of making it a competition, we could all do a sort of chain. Let me sort of explain. One person starts to write a mystery fiction story, give us the introduction, introduce the main character and then pass it on. Then someone else adds a little to the story and we all can have a shot of making a real fun "sleuthy" mystery! Any suggestions?

That sounds like a great idea! Instead of a competition we work together. I think that it would be fun for everybody.

I am so glad you think it's a good idea! I hope everyone else would be willing to try it out. If you don't mind- I wouldn't mind starting the first post?

The competition has already started, although this is an interesting alternative. First, though, why not get the contest over and done with before we begin a public mystery?
I'm hoping to have both of you submit a story for the contest!

This has already been done several times before in all honesty. Maybe it is worth a dig through the message board history for a thread started by Elsey. Outside of that one there several other attempts around.
Experience shows that people get bored of them. Both of writing them as well as reading them.
