I'm a newbie to this game and was wondering, what is the purpose of the bank vault? I'm sure it must contain evidence of some sort but where in the game does this come into play? Is this for the harder cases? I'm just curious.

In order to find the answer to that question, you might want to try the second page of Welcome Newbies. Plus it should have all sorts of other useful information.

Oh ok. I read it quite late last nite, so I either missed it or forgot it. More than likely, I just forgot. I'll go back and read it. Thank you.

The bank vault is useful only when you are part of an agency and a hunt is involved.

When an agency is involved in a key hunt they can avoid doing the final favor and crack the vault to finish the hunt.

Safe Cracking is therefore a faction skill that only subscribed detectives need to worry about getting.
