..how about a 5th city planned for 2007...the players could vote
on a list in 2006...staying with the genre...circa early 20th century
i would propose 5 cities ( not listed in order of preference )...
casablanca (where the bar of course would have to be "Rick's"...or
constantinople ( with the Orient Exspress office in the city )...i
think montevideo ( with the Graf Spree in the harbor as a site )...
and then there is always Cairo ( with the British Officer's Club as
a bar site ) and lastly as a novelty idea....Lhasa, the high city of Tibet
( where the Triad could have a dojo )....any other ideas on this subject ?

I don't see why Sydney or Melbourne don't fit into the genre. There's always been a seedy side... and they were all criminals... ;)

I would favor a small-sized city with an awkward name like Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.

The names that would occur there would be awesome as every son adopts the first name of his father as his last name. This is usually passed on form generation to generation so you could have a following list of successors in a family tree...

Einar Thordursson
Thordur Einarsson

etc.

Also small-sized cities would make motives like forgetting birthdays two times in a row alot more believeable :)

One of the problems with adding in new cities (and the reason I like the alternative that Arabesque suggested above) is the mechanics involved in adding these new territories.

2 new cities can be added and only need to change the number of cities the existing factions are in.

4 new cities and need 6 new factions with 6 new skills to teach.

Plus on top of this hunting would now expand to 12 hunts open at once rather than the current 6. That creates an entirely new dynamic for hunting.

I'd like to see South America - Rio, Havana (stretching the geography, but who cares) or Buenos Aires? Or something in 'old cold Russia'.

Why not Las Vegas? Duh for the mobs, and you can add in the sleuth funhouse thingy inside.

Another fun idea I have is Hollywood. OMG!! BRITNEY SPEARS HAS BEEN MURDERED!! That's cool. Then the suspects can be her hubby and other big-shot stars. That can be fun..

haha, Jolyn as much as my restless little soul would be comforted by the Britney slaying (hi god, please sweeten the pot by making a shotgun loaded with Ashlee Simpson's pointy little teeth the murder weapon), the whole celeb kill-fest wouldn't work with the random name generator, methinks.

ooooh nice Dogberta, Moscow or St. Petersburg would be really cool. For me there's like a direct correlation between the degree of corruption and the potential coolness of a prospective city...hence my inability to just pick a horse on this thread.

Actually, I think Hollywood would be awesome. Remember this is the 1920's, when stars rarely used their real names, so a random name generator would not be off the wall.

Suspects could be: promoters, managers, rival celeb, directors. It could work.
