Hey, I was wondering if there was a surefire way to solve cases? Normally I'll ask everybody for an alibi, then if they know any more people that have motives, but sometimes I get stuck. :)

Also, sometimes the evidence doesn't apply to anybody... like hair that doesn't seem to belong to any of my suspects, to which I'm guessing belongs to the deceased...

*grin* If there were a surefire way of solving cases a lot of sleuthers would not have permanent imprints from banging their heads on the keyboard.

And ditto what Arabesque said.

I will say that you have it backwards in my opinion (and a lot of other people). First check for motive then ask for alibi.

That way you get a full list of suspects, then you can work the case from there.

*whispers* I check alibi first, and it works just peachy for me!

You must be lucky as hell. I did that once in a favor on the first person I got, and they gave me the alibi and clammed on the motive question. Trust me I never did that again.

I first ask the alibis, then, if I have to, the 'who do you suspect'...then I go to the mercahnts, check out the alibis, and see if they know anything. Then I go and see who has real and fake alibis. Then I use those names in question for my evidence people (Barbar, Shoemaker, ect). Then I ask the witnesses, starting with the name of the person with the hair, note, footprint, ect, at the scene. I normally solve them...

I check for motive first (I would rather have a suspect clam on alibi, then not having a full list of susects), then check alibi.

Lol, thanks guys! Yeah, one time I had only one suspect, and I asked alibi first. Needless to say he clammed up on the motive question too. ^.^

I started out checking for alibi then motives with each individual before going to the next. After having to quit a couple of cases because I didn't have enough suspects, I switched to checking motive first until I have a full list and then go back for alibis. I make regular payments to the fortune teller. *grin*
