Umm that prediction can be pretty important mate :) The amount of people you have to identify can vary eg in an easy case either 5 or 6. In an almost impossible case either10 & 11. It's $20 well spent to find out if you have your 10 suspects, or if you need to looking for one more :) Also the messages tell you how many you are off getting all your full list. "Signposts" message lest you know you still have to find person one. There's another message that lets you know you need more than one. Somebody help my memory out here with the wording for the messages ...

AI cases can get as high as 13 suspects.

I use the fortune teller on ever favor case. I check motive till I hit 8, then ask. If all the actors are there I am ready to start solving. If not then I know to find that last person. (I am at the incredibly hard level for favors 8-9 suspects)

All the actors have taken the stage means you have them all.
Still others you have to talk to means one or two more.
There is a third message for many more suspects, but not sure what the wording is.

13? really? bloody hell I've solved a lot of AI cases without a full list then!

oh and ...

You have only just begun this journey into darkness. There are many more who hold secrets in their hearts. [3 or more suspects to go... and can I just add that that line 'secrets in their hearts', is one of the first things that hooked me into playing this game! :)]

I sense that you have already passed many signposts on your journey, but there are still others with whom you must speak. [1 to 2 suspects to go]

Your journey nears its end, for good or ill I cannot say. All of the actors have taken the stage and they now prepare to deliver their final lines. [quick get him/her, they're all there!]

I could very well be wrong I count by townies.

If my suspect list equals the tailor I start the case (visit the fortune teller), and I know that it reaches down to the bottom of the next townie (tea merchant, etc) on an AI case.

I will admit to being wrong with 13.

I've never, ever seen more than 11 in AI, and I always use the fortune teller to make sure I have all my suspects....
