Are the levels much different when you move up? I'm playing on Beginner, and I was thinking about moving up to Easy, but I wanted to know if there is a big difference between levels.

Between beginner and easy, not really. The higher levels you'll notice a bigger change in. It really depends on the skills you have. As you improve your interview and smart skills, the other levels will become easier for you as well.

Beginner level is closed once you reach 200 exp.

No other levels close up on regular cases.

Favors open at intermediate, and cap at Incredible.

The changes are pretty gradual until you get to Incredibly Hard, during which suspects can run away and go into hiding.
