WARNING GAME SPOILER!!

If you wish to enjoy the adventure of figuring out this game on your own, DO NOT read the rest of this post.

If you are too lazy to read through a page or two of threads to see if your question has already been asked a zillion times, then PLEASE read this first!

Welcome to Sleuth, and your new addiction.  There is no cure, so just accept it and enjoy it! Here are a few tips and hints that you should find helpful, and are among the FAQ of the newbie boards.

First, a great place to FIND ANSWERS and cool history threads about Sleuth is in the Moderator Picks Board. The Mods have picked out their favorite bits and made them easy to find. In addition to personal favorites, try looking over the Newbie FAQ. This can be found on the bottom of most pages as a tiny little grey link. Also the Help file at the upper right of most screens is packed with little useful tidbits.

HOW DO I SOLVE a case? First off…we recommend that you try the tutorial found on the front of the case page. It won’t count against your daily caseload, and it will give you an idea of how the game works. It’s not set up to walk you through the most efficient course through the game, but to show you how the game works, leaving you to find your own strategy. The following formulas will help you find your murderer.

PE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
WE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
2 WE = guilty

PE=Physical Evidence WE=Witness Evidence

Having a clammed suspect that will not give you an alibi is not the same as a fake/none alibi.

PE+WE DOES NOT = Guilty

hmm
Is there any way to reduce the number of false accusations?
What happens if I reached 3 false accusations? Will my username be banned or something?

I'd like a reply soon :)) *before I make another false accusation and never get to see the answer to this, if the worst should happen.

Well you can avoid making another FA by follwing the 3 rules for successfully solving a case in the orinal post.

However, if you do get another one, your detective will become retired and you must either reactivate it and take a great loss (in money, xp, contacts, and one random item you are wearing) or ou may start a new character.

Hi Annabello. Don't be afraid to quit your cases - it's always better to quit than to guess wrong! We all have to quit sometimes.

Hi Annabello. I'm not sure if this answers your question, but if I understand you in a literal sense, then the answer is "yes", you can reduce your FA number to zero by going to see the Shady Character at the back of the bar in any of the cities and pay a bribe to have him clean your record.

Be aware that as you gain in EPs, the cost to clean your record escalates proportionally.

Good luck.

Anyone who is well and truly being harassed by another player should save the harassing mails and make a complaint to Admin.

There's no 'snitch' about it. We have a Code of Conduct for a reason. Obviously, 'block sender' should end the issue, but if it doesn't - if a player creates other characters simply to circumvent the blocking and continues the harassment - then further steps need to be taken to stop it.

And remember, Mods and Editors are simply players with a few advanced functions and abilities. None of us are above the rules, and none of us should think we are.

NOBODY should be harassing anyone. Whether we pay to play or play for free, we're all here to PLAY. It's a game, people. A fun game. Let's keep it that way.
