WARNING GAME SPOILER!!

If you wish to enjoy the adventure of figuring out this game on your own, DO NOT read the rest of this post.

If you are too lazy to read through a page or two of threads to see if your question has already been asked a zillion times, then PLEASE read this first!

Welcome to Sleuth, and your new addiction.  There is no cure, so just accept it and enjoy it! Here are a few tips and hints that you should find helpful, and are among the FAQ of the newbie boards.

First, a great place to FIND ANSWERS and cool history threads about Sleuth is in the Moderator Picks Board. The Mods have picked out their favorite bits and made them easy to find. In addition to personal favorites, try looking over the Newbie FAQ. This can be found on the bottom of most pages as a tiny little grey link. Also the Help file at the upper right of most screens is packed with little useful tidbits.

HOW DO I SOLVE a case? First off…we recommend that you try the tutorial found on the front of the case page. It won’t count against your daily caseload, and it will give you an idea of how the game works. It’s not set up to walk you through the most efficient course through the game, but to show you how the game works, leaving you to find your own strategy. The following formulas will help you find your murderer.

PE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
WE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
2 WE = guilty

PE=Physical Evidence WE=Witness Evidence

Having a clammed suspect that will not give you an alibi is not the same as a fake/none alibi.

PE+WE DOES NOT = Guilty

If the client is the killer you get no money reward, but you get the Xp, if i'm worng on the getting Xp plz tell me, cause i don't want to steer anyone wrong. Also there are I think at least two witnesses one is telling about the guilty suspect the other is steering you wrong.

You're right about the xp, but there isn't always two pieces of witness evidence, sometimes its more. There will, however, always be two pieces of witness evidence against the guilty person.

thnx biggie,
When you want to chose a skill and its a skill like thread anyisys, go for the advanced if you can, I hear that that's beter than the regualr anylisys. Advanced ____ could help rule out a suspect and you have the chance to get the right person, get the research skill it works miracals, it rules out a fake alibi suspect, I have it and it helps if you have it you'll want to use it when you have all the suspects and all alibis figured out. That's when it will work wonders for you. The pick lock skill helps with some questions, if a suspect is not home when you click on the name you'll have the optoin of pick locking it, if you can click on it and you'll either not get anything or you'll get a buch of motives or an alibi. JC (judge of character) tells you weather charm is best or iterrigation, or rule bending, intimidation (suspect or townie). It makes it easier to unclam a suspect. stress detection tells you how many questions you get before the suspect or towinie before they calm up. hope that helps you next time you chose a new skill. =) PM me for further Q's.

mmmmm, weather charms...I want me a tornado bracelet! And one for my Auntie Em too, and for my boutique purse dog, Toto :P

Just playing, 48manytimes...but I DO want to point out that that the skills you are talking about are cumulative. You can't buy the advanced version of any of them until you have the basic/regular version, and in some cases the intermediate version, as well. So it's not really an option so much as something to build towards. Anyone who DOES have them as an option will have already bought the more basic cub scout versions.

I'm with you on research and lockpicking though; these are both really helpful.
