Well, I'm getting quite annoyed at having a very smart archetype. I already have all the smart skills except the ones offered by the factions. Charm and tough skills are hard to come by since it takes me so long just to get to the allotted amount for one of those many skills.

Granted, I did pick that archetype, but I did not know (at the time) that your archetype effects how many skill points it takes to buy a certain skill. If I had known, I would have chosen quite differently.

So, is it possible for me to change my archetype or am I stuck with it forever? Also, what are these "backgrounds" I see on detectives and what do they do?

Well, I did some research and found out that the archetype I now want (Tough and Smart) makes all Smart and Tough skills about 2 less then thier original amount. A Very Smart detective, which I am now, makes all Smart skills about 4 less then the original amount.

Hmmm.

Ben obviously is the only one who can give a final answer but I would hazard a reasonable guess is that you can not change after you have started your detective.

No game that I know of allows you to "go back and change the past" in such a way. Perhaps if you had never done a case, but 30 days in (at the time of writing this) I think you are who you are.

Look on the posisitive side there are great many detectives out there that take far longer to pick up all the smart skills.

I would suggest choosing a side and sticking with either Tough or Charming until you build up that equal to your smart scores.

Ha, well forget about Mr. West.

Apparently, I miscalcualted my number of fasle accusations while playing as him and put him into early retirement. Man, this sucks so much. :(

haha, don't feel bad...I have a little theory that most people who stay with the game have sacrificed at least one detective to do so. Bienvenidos Xavier, hasta la vista Curtis.

I started with a Makenzie Brewer....she got retired (bad bad BAD girl), then I started this one, Makensie Brewer with an S hehe I dont feel bad about it at all.....it made me learn from my first mistakes, and a little bit more wiser :) Now, it wasnt as tho my first detective was real skilled and had this great gear. She was still new, and had low skills and experience so,thats why it is no biggy to me lol

If I would get retired NOW, I believe I would go absolutely insane :)
