http://www.geocities.com/sleuth.mojo/home.html

This is a group effort by several detectives to create a fun, helpful and competitive enviroment for people to participate in.

We welcome you to look over our guidelines, our code of conduct and mission statement.

To show that we want to help everyone we are also posting for the first ime in public some (not all ;) ) of Mojo's hunting guidelines.

"We shared some of them already with the public. I have not seen that from ANYONE else. Let the new agencies flounder around, it only helps out you? "

Maybe that is because other agencies don't need the validation from the community as a whole when they help others out. And other agencies have and do and always will hewlp other new agencies out, I think that was a pretty misinformed and slightly arrogant statement.
And as for the info, it's pretty well known and discussed Ran :)

My point I have discussed with you many times.
I have played online games where the sense of community and spirit was ruined by "alliances" and the like.

I am merelyposting my concerns, as I'd hate Sleuth to become an online game divided by "alliances".

I didn't mean to offend you at all or Mojos. I know they are an efficent, highly organized agency that work damn hard and need to be recognized for that.

And you also stated: "We do want other agencies to work together with us. "
and: "We did not create this group of agencies to exclude anyone."
You ahve already turned down aone agency who asked to be part of this.

Like I said I need to think about this.
I kindly would like to ask that words are not put in my (or Emeralds) mouth before I do. You are asking me a series of questions in order to clarify if I said that or not. Obviously if you read my post I am not saying that at all, nor can it be interpreted as such.

Creating communities within communities can, and likely will, hurt the game, and it seems to me that is what is happening.
And having an overwhelming advantage in hunts by creating alliances like this isn't competitive. It makes the game less fun for everyone else. You'd be forcing others to make similar alliances, thus upsetting the balance of the game, and causing unecessary divisions in the community.

It's not in the spirit of the game.

As a director of a new agency, all I can think of is why would anyone want to join our little agency when they can get in with the Awesome Power of the Mojo Syndicate? I'm being facetious there, but you know what I mean. I am concerned that in order to remain competetive and attract quality people, we'll have to either be assimilated by Mojo or make/join some other alliance--which is not what I signed up for. If it comes to that I'd just leave the agency altogether and operate on my own, I guess. I hate to think about that because we have worked really hard on our little agency, and would really like to do well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out

I do not mean to put words in anyone's mouth.

I am stating my opinion on how I interpret what you are saying to me.

To the point of validation I am the only one here who has said that we should not have the high score boards if they do cause this much disention. I feel good about my contributions to sleuth overall and to Mojo in particular.

Leddy you say the things we posted are well known by everyone anyway. Then why do people think that Mojo practicing these ideas is unfair?

I would like very much to have more agencies join in with us to work together. You know that I have worked hard in private to help out other agencies and done what was asked of me. I do not think it would be a good precedent to immeadiately have a group of agencies swamp the community. That woud lead to the us verus them aspect of your problem.

The idea of creating communities within communites is part of sleuth. That is what agencies currently are. Small insular islands in the overall sleuth community. I am only trying to help those smaller groups work together to help everyone enjoy things more.

But perhaps I am just wrong on this. I will be quiet and try to do what I have been doing and give others a chance to speak out. I will go make one new thread for some thoughts on changes to agencies and then remove my self from the boards here for a bit.

I dont really see the big deal of what Ran did. He is a supportive detective/Director...even to people who arent in Mojo's or associated with them.

I disagree that he or Mojos is ruining anything in this community. Even when I wasn't apart of Mojo's, I saw him/them as nothing but supportive and helpful.

Everyone has their own way of doing things and in my opinion, forming alliances, isn't shutting anyone out. It never bothered me when I was Director of BCD. I never felt threatened or shut out. I just worried about what MY agency was doing, and not what others were doing. :)

I think that having many agencies is unfair as I have told you numerous times. I also told you that I do agree that agent rotation for hunts/cases/favours ect is unfair and though guilty of it myself, that I thought Ben's solution was fair and just.

It was the whole storing favours ect was what I was talking about as common knowledge.

I also feel that Arabesque's response was exactly what I was talking about.
I don't see how what you are doing adds to the community as a whole.
And it seems like you're not actually trying to "help those smaller groups work together to help everyone enjoy things more." but create an uber Mojos.

There are ways to help agencies by letting them do things by themselves.
And agencies, like I have stated before, have, do and alwyas will help other smaller agencies. Other feel they can do this without creating a "syndicate".

And I do agree with Mak that you are a supportive Director/Detective and perhaps I should just worry about my own agency however like I have stated I am merely stating my concerns. I have nothing against you personally or Mojos.

Everyone is making a mountain out of a friggin mole hill....and as somene who used to be in another agency, Ran IS right ,that he has always been helpful and he shouldnt be made to feel that he hasnt. I can vouch for the fact that what he says is true...because he always gave advice to me when I was director of my own agency, and I think its just idiotic for anyone to look down at what he did. Its not killing anything and if it would make anyone feel shut out, maybe its their own insecurities causing that,NOT him or Mojos.

Guess some things should just be left private within an agency.

Noone is pushing anyone to form alliances but if agencies want to, that should be THEIR choice and shouldnt be looked down upon for doing so!

I have kept quiet because this is the recruiting board, but I do not think it is in good spirit of the game to have giant agencies. The fact that during a multi city hunt, as the smaller agencies must balance and juggle their cases because of traveling expenses, Mojo can simply add in the members from the agency that is currently located in the new city thus not having to spend cases traveling. In case anyone has not looked, they have one agency per city (Mojo Jojo in London, Omega in NY, The Closers in Shanghai and The Shire in Delhi) and currently have 27 members plus the 11 people in Old Fogies with Stogies and what ever is left of Behind Closed Doors.

The idea of making agencies bigger or having satellite agencies in other cities has been brought up several times in the general feeback thread, yet Ben has not implemented that. I believe that is a good thing. Most agencies struggle to find members anyway. How can any agency of 8-12 people compete with the mega agency of Mojo Enterprises?

I do not think any agency should have more than the 12 members it is allowed. If you are having problems with people staying active, then replace them. Not move them to a side agency to be used later.
