The Resistance: Lurker Edition

Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)
The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.
I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.
A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.
Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)
Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

In regard to the failed Sal, Ty, Bela, Shell team:
If Sal is a spy, surely he would have lied about Shell's vote? If he's not a spy, and Ty and Bela are both spies, how were they able to determine who was going to vote SABOTAGE?

Okay, so here are my thoughts on the events from the past 24 hrs.
If Sindy is Resistance, then there is no reason to lie, therefore Aspen and Ty would be spies.
If Sindy is a spy, then she could be lying about both Aspen and Ty, or she could sacrifice one of them. As Resistance we would still need to figure out who is the spy and who is Resistance. She can't sacrifice both unless she plans on this mission succeeding and then sabatoge mission 5 herself.
That is all I have. I could have known more, but for some reason the person who seems to be regarded as most likely resistance and knows for a fact that Ty or Bela sabatoged mission 2, is the one who doesn't get the ability to confirm any of the speculations floating about. Well actually, Sal also knows it had to be Ty or Bela, but at the moment there is no consensus as to his alliance.
If Sal was a spy, lying about my vote would have only confirmed my suspicions that he is a spy. I've been trying to figure out why Sal choose me to keep an eye on. And there are only two reasons that make sense.
1) He is a spy and was helping hide the second spy on the team.
2)He is Resistance and creating a link between myself and him.
I need to follow the bouncing powers. And I also want to hear what Aspen and Missy have to say.

I'm going to have to comment on one thing at a time here because while reading through something jumps out at me but then when I read the next thing, I focus elsewhere. Let me start with this:
This is from Bela's post on:
Jul-29-2017 14:08
If Ty revealed his allegiance to say, shell, she'd know for sure who it was that sabotaged M2 and that could shed some light on the M3 team too. If you revealed it to me, Ty, I'd also be able to figure out the same. shell is the slightly more publicly trustworthy person, but if you are Resistance, I promise I will fight to have you on every team plus we'd know if shell and Sal are spies. We'll, I'd know, but I'll do my best to unravel the whole thing then from my point of view, and do my best to convince everybody of your Resistance-ness.
In the M2 failed mission, we have all agreed that it was either Ty or Bela that voted SABOTAGE (unless Sal lied about shell, but for now forget that part). So if it wasn't Bela, then she should know it was Ty yet she is still saying here that he could possibly be Resistance? This makes no sense to me. Bela, either you are the spy or you know Ty is. It's that simple. Yet you tell Ty to reveal himself to you? Why? So you can withhold that he is a spy from the rest of us again or so that you can keep the rest of us from knowing that you are the spy? Then again, it could possibly be you both are spies.
Now on to the other scenario: Let's say Sal did lie about shell's vote. Then that would mean that Sal and shell are the spies. From where I'm sitting, if Bela really were Resistance her first suspect would be Ty and her second suspect(s) would be shell with Sal as her partner. I find it strange that Bela keeps championing shell and saying she is the most public trustworthy person. Are you saying of the spies she is the most trustworthy?

This is shell's post on Jul-28-2017 20:22:
As for what we know
Sal and shell have link through keeping an eye on you and to a degree because Sal used Spotlight on himself.
Which means: shell resistance/ sal resistance
Or shell resistance/ sal spy.
Also
Ty and Bela, one of them sabotaged the last mission, one of them is a spy!
I am Resistance and I am telling the other resistance members the only facts we have.
Shell, you totally skipped that this could mean that:
shell spy/Sal spy or
shell spy/Sal Resistance
Just because you voted SUCCEED (if that was true) does NOT mean you are Resistance so if did vote SUCCEED that wouldn't tell Sal your allegiance. It only said how you voted that time.

Also Sindy, no one else will get cards on this Mission. Only the first leader which is you. Every time I start feeling good about you being Resistance, you do something strange. You played NO Confidence on your own team once and now you are asking us to vote down this team that you put together. What are you playing at?

No, one else on this mission will get cards, but on the next mission someone will get cards. I prefer that be Shell or you. Therefore, even though I believe the team I picked is the cleanest possible on this mission, I ask to have it voted down so AspenK does not get power cards. Anything she might reveal to us will be misleading.
Yes, of course I may not want her to get power cards so she can't reveal anything damaging about me. HOWEVER, if I was a spy and could convince you to vote for this team the spies would win and it wouldn't matter anyway. However, I am Resistance and Resistance needs to win two missions.

I'm at a loss as how to vote on this team. If what you say is true Sindy then there is only one spy on this team and it will go through with 5 successful votes. But if I'm to believe others then you are potentially a spy and the chances of another spy being on this team is likely.

I understand, Shell.
I'm not asking you to vote this team through - even though it is as clean as I can make at this point. Because if this team is approved and succeeds - which it will if approved - that moves us on to Mission 5, Team 1 and AspenK will get the power cards distributed at the beginning of the new mission. AspenK is a spy and will not help the Resistance determine who the third spy is. I want to make sure the power cards get into your hands or Missy's because you are the most likely to be Resistance IMHO. Hopefully you or Missy will get some power cards that will help you determine who the third spy is - or determine if I'm telling the truth if you haven't already done so by then.

@shell. You say: “I'm at a loss as how to vote on this team. If what you say is true Sindy then there is only one spy on this team and it will go through with 5 successful votes. But if I'm to believe others then you are potentially a spy and the chances of another spy being on this team is likely.”
But actually, according to Sindy’s reasoning there are at least 2 potential spies on this team - myself and Sal.
However, if you believe that Sindy is lying (which is, at the very least, an equally strong possibility), then there are potentially 3 spies on the team: Sindy, Sal and shell.
I also think that this team combination is another attempt to link my name with the potential SABOTAGE vote(s) of any of those three players/spies in order to confuse the RESISTANCE even further.
But, whichever way you choose to look at it, this team combination is very likely to contain at least 2 spies.
