Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Another advantage to having multiple teams in each mission is that eventually the leadership starts to repeat itself - so you get to see the different people each team leader chooses (or omits) from the different teams s/he forms.

I don't know why on earth you would want to redo a team that failed.

I am back. I didn't post much yesterday because I want to spend time for me in my birthday. Ok! Let's get back.

I think I got the reason why somebody want a recall on a fail team. As you said, Sindy, if you can point out who is a spy, then you can track down his/her other teammate. It might be a risk-taking action but possible. If so, I suggest Sal to pick the M2-T2 except me or Bela (only 1). So people can have a good consideration on who is the spy. But we must consider the possibility that Sal is a spy. In that case, every will be messed up. And I really suggest you to think carefully because this is the 4th proposed team and even the way to proposed a failure team is really dangerous.

Moving from that idea, we can consider that Sal will pick shell on his team. Since he revealed that Shell proceeded a success. If he is a resistance, it's obvious. If he's a spy and shell is a spy also, the fact that 2 spies on the same team will benefit us, the resistance. However, the last scenario that he is a spy and shell is a resistance. So it will be a problem. We should think about it.

Anyway, I would recommend you to help suggesting the team because it is the 4th team in a mission.

Thanks Zara, I was keeping track but got busy and stopped. I was going off the top of my head.

I like Ty's and Sindy's team suggestions. Bela, I'm not sure why this keeps happening, I think I'm following your post and totally agree until you select a team or suggest one. Then I'm always surprised by who you suggest. I need to reread your last few post. But right now I'm just to tired.

Honestly I can't even think of a suggestion that would be any better than Ty's or Sindy,'s.

I think I and sindy have different ideas for a team, shell.

Anyway, let me make things clear. So are you guys willing to take risk at this mission to figure out who the spies are? Or we should try to succeed this mission to guarantee our win?

I think we should do our best to try and construct an all resistance team but we are going to have to take a chance on either this next proposed team or the next one even if we don't feel comfortable with it. I would feel much better going forward if I was certain of one spy (knowing who all 3 are would be a dream come true, lol). I have to keep reminding myself that there are 4 other resistance members and we are the majority even though it doesn't feel that way because I don't know who they are.

Yes, Happy (belated) Birthday, Ty : )

I feel that Ty’s team suggestion is perhaps the best we have to go with right now. I’m as confused as anyone in uncovering the spies. The only person that I strongly suspect as a spy is Bela - therefore I could not vote for any team that includes her.

I’m interested to see what Sal himself proposes. Maybe he will surprise us all.
