The game's very simple. You just have to post a riddle, and the person who posts next should try answering it, and should post their own riddle.
Example:
Why do birds fly South in winter?

(To be honest, it has more words hidden in it, for example herein and then)
Already heard of that one Lyra

Vulkie, I have no clue.
However, here is a riddle. No googling this one people!
A man is found murdered on a Sunday morning. His wife immediately calls the police. The police arrive and question the wife and the staff about their alibis. The wife was sleeping, the cook was cooking breakfast, the gardener was picking vegetables, the maid was getting the mail, and the butler was cleaning the closet. The police instantly arrested the killer. Who was it and how did they know?

In the spirit of the season:
I am used to bat with, but never get a hit.
I am near a ball, but it is never thrown.
What am I?
