Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

What walks on four legs in the morning, two in the afternoon, and three in the evening?

humans - old riddle.
4 legs (crawling as a baby) to 2 legs (walking) to 3 legs as an old man/lady with a cane

Nice job IdealKonsepts, I guess my riddles are kind of old.

John, indeed your riddles are very old. The "walks on 4 legs" riddle is known as "The riddle of the Sphinx", and it is a classic from Greek mythology - (Story of Oedipus). That puts it around 500 BC at least. :)

Just because it's old doesn't mean there are some who won't have heard it! So keep 'em coming if you have more that aren't on this thread yet, John!
I don't think anyone has solved my most recent riddle yet....but it's okay; it took my students a long time, too ; )
