Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

It sure is Bryola!!!!!!!! Great job!

Another Shadow and Sid one:
Shadow heard that Sid Shady had drawn up a detailed plan to rob a local bank. He brought Shady in for questioning, and naturally Shady was struck with one of his memory lapses. Shady denied the existence of such a plan at first, but finally broke down and agreed to tell the truth. Shady said he thought he was being tailed, so he ducked into the local library, and hid his plan in a book. He said he was certain it was between pages 125 and 126, but he had been so intent on committing those numbers to memory that he had forgotten the name of the book. "It's obvious you're lying," said Shadow. What was wrong with Shady's explanation?

Right again Lomine!!!!!!!!

I will throw in a few:

A) When can you add 2 to 11 and get 1 as the correct answer?

B) In Hawaii if you drop a steel ball weighing 5 pounds from a height of 45 inches, will it fall more rapidly through water at 20 degrees Fahrenheit or water at 40 degrees Faherenheit? Or will it make no difference, and why?

C) How long will it take to cut a wooden log in to 10 equal pieces if it talkes one minute to make each cut?

D) How far can a dog run into the woods? If he runs 7 miles per hour?

C) One minute if you've got nine people.

B) I am going to count this as correct, 20 Fahrenheit would be below 0 celcius, therefore frozen water.
C) Well almost, 9 minutes. But yeah with 9 people I suppose 1 minute, kinda crowded though for one log. :)
D) Correct, as halfway onwards it would be running out of the words.

YAY! Takers for A

Is A like in binary? Like, you add 11 (=3) to 2 and get 5 - which is 101. So there's a 1 in the answer anyway.

And if you cut the log in half and then put the halves down next to each other and repeated, kind of like chopping celery but with power tools, it would take half as long. I think. It's too early. Or too late. Or something.
