Due to the success of the lateral puzzles in the "A riddle" thread, it seems appropriate to start a lateral thinking puzzle thread.

A rule of thumb to follow would be to allow those who do not know the answer to figure it out for themselves. If you happen to know the answer, please keep it to yourself and let the others have the fun.

Please feel free to start one at any point. It is not necessary to wait for one to finish before starting another one.

Have fun!

it was said earlier that the appearance of the questionees was relevant, so maybe:
they asked only good looking people? [No]
they asked only people with nice teeth? [No]
they asked people to make them smile? [No]
Were the askers by general standards "normal"-looking when they asked the questions? [Depends on what "normal" means. ] Was there anything strange about their dress? [No, there was nothing strange about their dress.] Voice? [No] Mannerisms? [No]

But there was *something* relevant about the askers' clothing, correct?

Were the askers all wearing the same clothing? Did the clothing have some kind of message, either overt or implied?

Did the askers ask any other questions besides the identity of Mickey's girlfriend? Relevant?

If the clothing was some kind of uniform, was it the type that specifically belonged to people in a specific job? career? specific job type? (for example, a quarterback's uniform would label him as a quarterback, football player, and athlete)

Were the questions asked in person? Verbally? And answered verbally?
