I have the basic footprint thing. When I talked to the barber, she said that it didn't match the suspect I asked about. However, the killer was the suspect I asked about.

This is the second time this has happened with footprints. Is there a bug with them? Thanks!

I think what Cinderella is trying to say it that it is possible that you didn't find all the evidence. If you don't have basic hair and thread it is very easy to miss a piece or two, and it may just be the one piece that belongs to the guilty party.

Shanty - you say: "You can't count on the analysation to be accurate 100% of the time."

thats not true. The townies dont lie to you about the evidence. If they say the FP doesnt belong to suspect x, then it simply does not belong to suspect x!
Other evidence might belong to him/her. If you dont have basic hair and thread then you might not get all evidence.
In that case you'll have to rely on finding two witnesses against the suspect.

Yes, that, and something else I've looked into.

There should always be two pieces of evidence at crime scenes. One analysation will not incriminate the guilty party, but one analysation will.

Example (Suspect X is the guilty one):

Hand writing - Suspect X? No.
Hair - Suspect X? Yes.

Usually the PE Witness that has the incriminating evidence will clam up more quickly than the other Witness that doesn't have the incriminating evidence.

I've checked that loads of times.

Anything else needed to be squeezed in?

That is exactly my point lol. the townies dont lie about evidence. They will always tell you the truth.
