I think you should be able to reset that detective to zero again or something else other then just losing that detective.

Post what you think

Seconded here.

There has to be a consequence.

I would like to see a graveyard of the old names, but then again Ben does already have quite a bit to maintain.

Well I see your point about learning from our mistakes but resetting everything to zero would be like starting a new detective just without changing the name. You say, “it should be kept as realistic as possible.” Well I think if a detective has false accused 3 people, I don’t think they just quit, I think maybe business goes down a lot.

But thanks for your view on this issue :)
and keep posting people!

Well, in respect to your opinion, I still think it is a bad idea....and makes it way too easy! Business may go down a bit BUT in real life, he or she may have to move out of the city to start over just to gain his respect back because falsely accusing 3 times would give the impression to others that he is careless and who would call on a detective that makes them careless mistakes? (keeping the game in reality), and in this game, having to start over with a brand new detective would be similar to that.

I don't want a ROLE PLAYING game to be gamish! Alot of games,u canjust reset and start over and that is what makes Sleuth so fun and set apart from the rest....it is close to being realistic. So Ben, PLEASE keep it how it is! :)

Ben has already "unretired" names and may do so again in the future. There are so many posts that say "DON'T GUESS" and just as many that give you the formula for a safe accusation.
Most of us have lost names or whatever but we made the choice to guess on that last accusation and if it was just carelessness well.. :D That poor unavenged victim!
And beside, as Mak once told me, you could always add a title to the start and keep your name... or call it ________ II or Jr or Snr.

Pardon me for being new and all, but if your detective fails can you actually create another one? Even as a non-suscriber?
