pls tell me which factions teach which skills. Pickpocketing seems good and so does Underworld connections. However I am good with LCN, which teaches safe crcking which is useless to me as I am not subscribed.

In my opinion the faction skill that makes the most sense for a detective with a Tough component is Pugilism. Pick pocketing is far down on my list, either that or surveillance are the two weakest of the Faction skills in my opinion.

I will echo CFM though for that point, Smart skills and your Tough or Charming skills first before you spend the points on anything from the Factions.

Pickpocketing is only useful when your client is guilty--then you get paid anyway. And Underworld connections are overrated, as you can usually get a suspect out of hiding fairly easily by questioning the townspeople. I agree with the above, get all the smart skills (including research!) and tough skills before the faction skills.

Thanx! Although I already have all tough skills and smarts skills except the writing and footprint analysis.

I don't think that you may have all the skills with your experience points... but even then i would choose one of the analysis before Pickpocketing...

But i won't agree wit CFM opinion about faction skills...i think that Hypnotism is one of the most useful skills, and i would choose it instead of higher level of Sweet talking

I have to disagree Antimony. Underworld Connections saves ALOT of time from having to go to each townsperson asking if they've seen the suspect in hiding. Time, that I sometimes dont have alot of, so....Underworld Connections is a GREAT time saver and I love it! :) I do agree tho, to get all the basic skills before worrying about faction skills :)
