Consulting Fates

I've consulted the fates with the Fortune Teller regarding a few cases (for diff detectives) as a last resort when I was pretty stuck, but I never could figure out what if anything it gained me. Does anything happen or change or anything when you consult the fates?

Yeah, if he says that "yor case is near its end and all the actors are"something like that, you've met all suspects, and if he says that "you have to pass more signposts", you still gotta meet a few more suspects

Each level has a constant number of suspects lets call it: x or x+1. If you ask the FT after you found x suspects and he said you found them all then you know you dont need to ask the motive question anymore. If he says "you have to pass more signposts", then you know you mis one suspect.

Thanks for the info.
I guess I didn't notice anything because every time I always got the same response because I always had found all the suspects already.

ps the murderer need not necessarily be on eof the suspects whom you find after the fortune is told. (:-D

Reda, let's say that you currently have suspects A, B, C & D. The FT says that you need more suspects. You find X,Y and Z. This does not necessarily mean that the murderer is X,Y or Z.

get it now??

miroac, not sure if you've already seen or used this, but if you go to City Hall...Sleuth Community Sites...Sleuth Helper, you'll find a form that shows how many suspects will be in each level of case.

In some levels, there can be two options (such as Really Hard having either 7 or 8 suspects), but the list is still a big help. In a really hard case, if you currently have 7 suspects, you may want to consult the fates to see if there is one more you haven't uncovered yet.

Thanks, LastTrain. I have seen that. Actually, I took that Sleuthhelper and improved on it (in my opinion). I'll probably post it some day.
