i used judge of... skill and saw some1 is better to b tough with. by mistake i clicked on sweet talking. the suspect did answer me.
so, my question is how exact is this skill? could it tell me to use something and be wrong, or even misleading? or is it that with tough i had more chance, but charm may work as well?

Does your archetype matter at all in increasing chances?

So does judge of character take into account my equipment and skills?
Or is it just an indication of the witness/suspect's inclination?
For example if I have equipment and skills that increase my charm, when judge of character tells me to go with toughness, has it taken everything into account?

No, it just indicates base chance. It would make sense for me to change that.

I don't know if that should be changed though, because it would be good to be able to go and change to charm equipment for someone who is more easily charmed.

Yeah, changing the Judge of Character skill wouldn't effect the modifiers from equipment, just give you a better idea of how your skills + the base vulnerability + equipment modifiers pan out between the two routes (tough or charming).

Sorry, what I mean is:

The way it's set up now, say I'm wearing tough equipment. But the person's more easily charmed. I find that out and can switch to charming equipment and have a much more awesome effect.

If it's changed, it might say the person's more easily interrogated -- not letting me figure out that I should switch to charming equipment.

I see your point.

Although, it still could be misleading, because it might say their base vulnerability to charm skills is higher (less resistant), but depending on your available skills and equipment, there might be no circumstances where your detective could be more effective using the charm skill than if they just used a toughness skill.

I think I'll change it to be more explicit. Maybe add some parenthesis spelling out the numbers.

So, does judge of character still indicate base chance? or does it now take into account equipment and skills?
I'm asking because I am on the charm side, and it seems I'm not benefiting much from using judge of character. I find I'm doing better if I just go for sweet talking every time.

Still just base chance. Meaning Judge of Character is really only useful if you have the same level of skill in the two appropriate skills.

For instance, if you have both Intermediate Sweet Talking and Intermediate Interrogation, and you equipment isn't too out of balance towards either Charm or Toughess, then Judge of Character can be quite helpful.

But, if you have Advanced Sweet Talking and only the first level of interrogation, you are probably better off going with Sweet Talking every time.

I want to change that so Judge of Character give more useful feedback, but that change is probably stil a couple of weeks away.

what i'm doing now is 1st check which way i should go with a suspect or witness and then jump to the agency change to the right gear and go back to Q them. it is usually very helpfull exept when ur suspects decides to die while u r in the changing room.
