Okay, if I could be any sleuth, real or fictional, I would want to be Edgar allen Poe's detective, Dupin. Although each story is uniquem I love his subtly and mystery.

Sometimes, the most obvious spot, is the least likely, and therefore the last place you would look.

Okay, so who is your detective?

Miss Marple. I love the way she compares people she meets to other people she has known. I experience that in my real life, too. Although I don't think I have ever solved a crime because of it...

Kinsey Milhone - ('A is for Alibi' series) I can just imagine actually living like that (and of course I'd love to live in coastal California again!!!)

reda, now I am going to have to check and see if the story I read the other day was a Peter R de Vries story, not sure, but I do know it was Dutch!

Miss Marple. Sensible and shrewd, she is excellent at solving any mystery. Comparisons, like Moonshh says, are her strengths.

Moonsh as far as I know Peter R. de Vries is not a writer.
He used to be a police detective, but for the last 10 years he has a tv show.
He cracks cases the police failed to, or opens up new cases.
Im sure jstkdn will correct me if Im wrong ;)

I'd be Hercule Poirot... Might change my image a little bit, but those little grey cells will keep on keepin' on, like a hampster on its wheel! If not Hercule, Detective Jim Chee from the Tony Hillerman novels.
