Dank u vel jstkdn.

Ik vergat dit. (Ik?)

That's about the extent of my dutch. Not really sure why I would remember how to say "vergat". Must just be something I'm so used to doing.

Wooohooo. Where did you pick that up? I am sure SlimT and Reda are impressed too!

Most people don't get any further then "kijken, kijken, niet kopen" (looking, but not buying. The reputations the Dutch have abroad I guess.)

I've been to the Netherlands a couple of times. Occasionally looking, not buying. I also have a Belgian friend from Leuven. I stayed with his family for a few days and they speak Dutch at home. Also, my cousin is married to the Dutch ambassador to Sweden, but I'm pretty sure I've never heard either of them speak Dutch.

Ahs, so you are an honarary Dutchie! Or Belgian!

That explains to me why you referred to me as "u", which is the polite form like "usted" in Spanish. In the Netherlands, we only use that with much older people whom are strangers.

In Belgium, "u" is used for almost anyone.

Jojo before curiousity kills you. He said:

Thank you jstkdn. I forgot this.
