Knowing When to Quit

I had this case where all the evidence led to a person, but I hadn't established his alibi and everyone else clammed up on me and I had used up all forms of persuasion. is that the time to quit? or do the suspects ease up after awhile.

Also, if you're unable to solve a mystery, and you have to log off, will th mystery still be there when you return?

Unfortunately suspects do not get more willing to talk. Once they clam up, they stay clammed up (the only ways around this is by being in an agency where assistance from a colleague can lead to the unclamming of 1 or 2 suspects, or by having the surveillance skill which, although not always 100% dependable can help unclam 1 suspect).

So unless you can determine that someone did it based on the physical evidence and/or witness evidence, or number of real and false alibis for a certain level, then yes, it would probably be best to quit unless you want to take your chances and risk getting a false.

And yes, if you don't have time to finish a mystery, you can just log off and it'll be there, ready for you to continue, when you get back :)
