Why there is nothing to search what you need in old messages?? I think it isn't to hard to made, but it would save a lot of time and there won't be so many repeated themes...

I agree this would be a big help. It's a bit annoying when you ask a question and 10 people reply that the answer is on the boards somewhere... and you then spend hours searching for it (and never find it). I know there are some free search tools out there--can we get one for the message boards please?

Well, usually when someone says there is an answer somewhere, they dont just say THAT. They tell exactly where to find it or even send a link that takes u there, so its quite easy either way.

Ive never had a problem finding anything, even when I was a newbie so I guess it doesnt matter to me one way or the other if there is a search engine. However, it would be nice to have for quick references...for the new ones who do find it hard to find something. :)

If there are any threads that aren't on any of the moderator picks that someone feels would be especially helpful, let me know and I'll add them to mine. That way, if you want to tell someone how to find them, they'll be findable. One of my picks is the thread that tells how many experience points you need to be able to open up each level of case, and I put it there because we needed the information in my agency. On my picks, it's always easy for me to find, but I also felt that it would be useful for other people. I do think a search engine would be helpful, but I think when and if we get one, there will still be repeated themes and a need to tell people to expend a little effort searching.

Well det porno, I am not sure how helpful it would be. I think searching on things like banker, or larry.....would generate about half the board. :) Simply flicking through the newbie board, you can tell the by the title what the topic is quite fast. And there really not that many different types of questions.

What would be more helpful if people paid attention to their titles, and when they ask for help not title a thread "I need help", but "Should I get research of advanced sweet talking"

You're right, that if someone need help he could easily ask for it, but it would be much easier if there would be one page with some information that are important for a beginners, so they won't be asking for the same thing everyday, cause I sometimes suppose that people are making new theme even if they don't check at least one page earlier on Message board...
Need example? Check how many times someone asked if he have to be subscribed to join an agency...

I saw, that on Sleuth Talk and Gumshoe Lounge when someone write something in the theme a theme is moving on the top...That's some kind of help... I don't know does it work in other places...

Well I used to want the same but have come to realize the Message Board system creates an intergral part of Sleuth and that is being part of the community. When a Newbie asks one of those questions that is redundant to us but not to them. If they would read 3things- Subscription FAQ, Newbie FAQ, and most of all HELP(top right corner), most of those questions are answered. Everything else asked is pretty much things you will learn just though playing.Message Boards are players sharing what they have learned with others. I don't mind sharing what I know most here are the same I think.I always giggle when someone complains about having hard time solving at a certain level and I think to myself we try easier level and build up skills first then try. Experience you have some when you KNOW it is better to QUIT than GUESS!!Besides if you can't find it ask cfm!!!
