Here's something I haven't run across yet. I've interviewed all seven suspects and narrowed it down to three with a fake alibi. I found a threatening note at the crime scene and took it to the banker but the handwriting does not belong to any of those three. I've also consulted the fates and there are no more suspects to find. Am I missing something here? I know the guilty party cannot have a true alibi but is it possible that someone other than the murderer left the threatening note?

If a person doesnt have a real alibi,they arent the guilty one. The guilty one will have a fake/none alibi. What other evidence did u find? Maybe the guilty one belongs to that evidence. One evidence will belong to a suspect with a REAL alibi,and one evidence will belong to a person with a fake/none alibi,and that is the one u want to accuse.

So an innocent person can leave PE at the crime scene?
And the note was all that I found.

Well I went ahead and accused (got it right) so I answered my own question there. Yes, an innocent person can leave PE at the crime scene (tricksie little authors).

It's likely there was other evidence at the scene that you didn't find. If you don't have all the basic evidence skills yet, or if your smarts adjustment is too low, this will happen. In that case, the way to be SURE about the guilty suspect is 2 WE(Witness Evidence) or one WE and a false alibi or stated non-alibi (not a clam).

if you have found no evidence at all, but you have narrowed down your list of suspects to a single suspect, can you still get a success?

Easy cases only have two pieces of evidence. all the others have three or 4 - maximum is four at harder cases. Actually ONLY ONE evidence is from the guilty person. every other evidence is from an innocent with a real alibi.

McKinney - without any physical evidence you would need two eyewitnesses who put your suspect at the scene (and your suspect would have to have a fake alibi/none). but yes, you can correctly accuse without physical evidence.

PE+Fake/"none of your busineess" Alibi=guilty
WE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
2 WE = guilty

PE=Physical Evidence WE=Witness Evidence
