Any skill you think would be useful/cool, mention it here. If you can tag it with a type (smart, tough, charming). Also, lets try to match up new skills of each type with each other.

Sherlock, we already have the "Blackmail" skill, though it's called "Surveillance." First you trail the person, then you get some dirt on them (well, if it works), and then they have to unclam so you don't air their dirty laundry to the world. It's a smarts skill, however, and only available from a faction.

White Glove, thank you, Reda! Would be especially helpful if say a new agent in the agency got stuck in a case and a more experienced agent could find the evidence they missed, for example.

This could also be called something like "Forensic Team," and rather than have it be a skill for an individual, an agency could perhaps develop to the degree that they could acquire their own team. This goes along with the old "hanger" idea, for those who hate changing in and out of smarts gear all the time and would like to be able to just click on a "use forensic team to search crime scene" link. This forensic team could be limited to the ability of the four top items of smarts gear owned by that agency, but limited perhaps to the evidence skills the agent using the team actually has. This could be instead of or in addition to the White Glove idea or searching a scene over again. Frankly, I'd like to see both!

I like the seance idea and the gossip idea, too, and I have seen different variations suggested in other threads for those that seem to be worth consideration.

I am wary of having TOO many of these new skills, as we won't enjoy the game so much if it gets too easy, so maybe having them only work some of the time would be a positive limitation.

For example, I think reda's idea of getting friendly is appealing, but I know that flirting gives an increased chance to the charm skills of 20, whereas pugilism gives an increased chance of only 10 to the tough skills. However, this is balanced because pugilism applies to every suspect, and flirting applies only to those of the other gender.

I would love to be able to hire an assistant that keeps track of who is heavy, slim, right handed, left handed, etc. Then, when I'm checking evidence, he/she hands me my notepad marking those who fit the evidence. :D

I think all of the ideas mentioned here are great. I especially like the white glove/forensic team and the getting friendly skill idea.

ooh, Agency skills could be pretty cool. I read on another thread about agents who have every skill and are trying to burn points. Maybe agency skills could require 100 - 150 skill points (or whatever) and could do something spectacular but only once a day or something like that. Any ideas?

I also agree on a agency skill, but it could be something each agency member automatically has when we join that agency, and it could be like:
"RESPECT - charm"
Adds +4 towards each member's charm attributes

and also something similar for Tough and Smart attributes. But each agency can only have one or two of these agency skills and could cost $50000+ and have to be above a certain number of fame points etc.

But this would mean the agencies would be classfied as a "tough" agency, or "charm" agency which would be strange...

o well, it's just a suggestion..!! hehe

cfm, yeah! An advanced course in record-keeping, or a sidekick who comes around on the case with you - like a Watson with a notebook! That would be a smarts skill for sure.

And wouldn't it be great if it helped keep track of who you already asked about what? (Or this could be a separate skill). I would so love it if people would disappear off the options to ask someone about when I have already asked about them. I know it adds to the challenge for us to remember or take notes or whatever, but when I get a phone call I have to take in the middle of a case, sometimes I get back to the case and find I am at sea, not knowing which people I asked about.

I think they are all wonderful ideas.
The problem is, there are a lot of skils that can be purchased already. After obtaining all skills, then Impossibly cases have a certain difficulty factor. But with more skills, the difficulty factor would lower. Unless of course we would get a very impossible case. Or something. But I think with impossibly we pretty much have reached the end of the line almost.

Unless there is a situation, where certain skills are a "choice", where you take one or the other skill. But then to prevent to be stuck with a skill you can never get rid off, you need to be able to delete your bad skill pick. But just for the "choice" skills, not ALL skills. Suffering through bad skill picks are kind of part of the game.

More importantly the favours are almost a guaranteed win for someone with all skills that are currently there. With more skills, it really will be random clicking. I think most of us will not be in favour of having the favours higher then incred hard.

Maybe the favor level will get higher only if you buy the new skill? So ppl without it will have inc hard favors as top option but if they buy new skills their favor level will jump up.

Actually I was a little surprised to see favors top out at Incredibly Hard. I has assumed that as I went up they would continue to get harder, all the way up to the Almost Impossibles.

It would change the mechanics of Hunts dramaticaly I think.

Right now we work hard to move up, and when we are high enough level we suddenly stop doing harder cases during hunts. We fly though Easies, take a little longer on the Incredibles for each favor, then plow through more Easies.

Getting off track here, will move this to a new thread.
