Dead persons of interest

When I first started out it seemed that every case one of my persons of interest would wind up dead before I could ask them everything I wanted too. At the time I had the habit of going on long jaunts to all the townies. I would ask them if they knew anything about the case in the hopes of learning new names of persons of interest and whether they suspected anyone. But when I would go to the person who suspected someone, most of the time that person was dead. Now I spend more time with the persons of interest up front and the persons of interest don't seem to die as often. Is there any rhyme or reason to the deaths of persons of interest?

No, except that they are not the killer, and not the client.

But it IS a bummer when you need witness evidence to lock in a guilty party, and one of the people who was willing to accuse someone else is dead before you can ask them....

I rarely believe the townies, often when they saw X knows who did, X will not know anything...

I find that they are useful only for alibis and in a pinch getting suspect names...

Your new strategy is better. Suspects never die on first visit. That is why I always make sure I get motive and alibi in first visit cause they might die when I visit next.
your strategy could be the reason it seems like they dont die as often, you just make less visits.

Also it might be level related. I know that suspects only dissapear in higher levels. Maybe they also only die at certain levels? Since I play AI I cant remember a dying suspect, now they only hide ;)

Actually mave nave, the people that the townies say knows something will accuse someone, but it may be the wrong someone.

Right, and they might not accuse anyone that you ask them about. But I do believe that if the townies say a suspect thinks they know who did it, that person would accuse someone, if you could go down the whole list. Each suspect who accuses someone may, of course, be wrong.

If they accuse someone who has a STATED false alibi or STATED lack of alibi (ie, not a clam), then you can accuse. If they accuse someone that someone else has also accused, then you can accuse that person.

Also, if a suspect tells you they think another suspect did it, it's not worth asking them about any of the other suspects. They have one person in mind as the guilty party only, right or wrong.

Exactly Gena Long, they accuse the wrong person so I don't waste my clicks to have them tell me trash ;)

mave, this information can come in handy on the harder levels. You still have to watch out for incorrect information, but sometimes witness evidence is the only way to solve a case.

i've had suspects die at easy level. Another thing is.. sometimes you have a townie saying that X thinks he knows, but X doesn't accuse anybody... What's that about? It's a bit unfair tho...

Elka, I think if X thinks he knows, he WILL accuse someone. If X clams up before you get to ask about everyone, you might never find out whom, though.
