I was wondering how to determine how much I would have to pay the shady character in the bar to get rid of any false acc's. Is it a random amount or a percentage?

I'm sure he does, he just does want to give us the information. ;)

It depends on your experience points, the more experienced, the more is taken. I had right at $80,000, and made a false accusation, and lost $38,000.00. So, all I can say, if you're not for sure, then don't guess, unless you're sure. It's better to quit, than make a falsely accuse. My experience points are 362730 at this time, so it could possibly be more than half at this point. However, I'm guessing.

lol, my grammar stinks...sorry about the message above. Here I'll retype it. What I meant to say was if you're not sure about who is guilty, then it's best to quit, rather than make a false accusation. Also, the more experience points you have, the more money you'll have to pay out to the Shady Man. I hope that made more sense..lol

I understand the more Exp that you have, the more you have to pay, but should you ever have to pay OVER the amount of experience that you have? I didn't think that very fair...

I think this has been discussed in a much earlier thread somewhere. It seems the agents making the transition between the easiest and hardest cases are the ones having the problems.
The shady character's fees are relatively more difficult to pay for those just starting out, because cases pay less, items are worth less (you dont get much money for selling them) and since you dont have much skills, you end up having to bribe a lot.

In addition, solving easy cases doesn't chalk up as much, if any, skills points and attempting the harder levels is just not possible, with limited skills.

I think Ben said in that earlier thread that he was going to look into this and rectify the problem. Maybe you should email him directly to see how that's going.

On the bright side, this phase won't last long, so just hang in there and try not to rush through cases. Go check boards with Tips and stuff. They are littered all over the town. :) And if you get the barber contact, come join Chicago Agency. ;)

Oh waitaminute! You DO have the Barber contact, but unfortunately, you ARE already in an agency.

Some sleuth I am.. :P Sorry about that.

D.L. tries to save some face by asking the others standing around, "Anyone else with the Barber contact and no agency?"

i think i saw it in some older thread: the idea is that it will take u several days to earn the money for shady. but u could always ask ur agency for a loan ;)

Yeah, think it was something about it being what someone with a certain experience could earn in 4 days - although I have to say that I'd be thrilled if I could make what the shady guy is asking now in 4 days :D
