For the cheerfully pessimistic detective!

1. Your client did it.

2. Buying Advanced Thread Analysis means that all threads immediately disappear from the crime scene.

3. The question you need answered most is the one the witness clams up on.

I'm sure more experienced players can add to the list. Care to have a go?

You are just about to solve the last part of the trilogy that you have been eagerely waiting on for weeks when a power failure happens. You wait several days in agony and in the dark wondering what happened while the electric company marks your house as the last to work on. In your dreams you plunge into the world of sleuth, and end up as every murdered character in the trilogy. You experience every single one of their final moments. When the electricity is finally restored, you discover that the slueth site has crashed and a permanent farewell message has been posted by Ben, who has decided to take all the cash he earned with him to his new home located in a dead zone in the Arctic. Sleuth will forever torment you and the demons that now possess your mind will lead to your confinement for the rest of your miserable life in an insane asylum.

not sure what # this is but, you finally buy research and the suspect it eliminates dies right after you get back from city hall.

You're not "subbed" and all 3 cases had the client as the guilty one so now you're singin' your pain:

"Trailer for sale or rent
Rooms to let...fifty cents.
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but..two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

Third boxcar, midnight train
Destination...Bangor, Maine.
Old worn out clothes and shoes,
I don't pay no union dues,
I smoke old stogies I have found
Short, but not too big around
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

I know every engineer on every train
All of their children, and all of their names
And every handout in every town
And every lock that ain't locked
When no one's around.

I sing,
Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let, fifty cents
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but, two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road. "

you just nicely get the contact you want and they never have any evidence, or alibis or anything.

not that i'm hinting about the foot doctor in delhi :)

you've just nicely got the person you want to accuse, you go to accuse them and guess what they've been killed.

You have 5 suspects. 1 (not the client) has an alibi that checks out. 2 say that it's none of your business, 1 has a fake alibi, and another has an alibi for the tailor, who has clammed up tight. There is one thread at the crime scene. One thread, 4 possible suspects, and a tailor whose mouth is closed tight, wants way too much money, and won't respond to any of the persuasion methods. SIGH...

No, no, no. Advanced Thread analysis DOES turn up threads....Actually, two more than is needed. So, now you have 3 perpetrators to choose from! WHOO! And, of course, you pay somebody money for a direct answer, and they're all like, "Uh, yeah, she was here the whole time" or "No, this isn't Bob's hair". =D YAY!

OH! And of course, you get a hint from one of the townspeople saying "Hunter Zimmerman knows who the murderer is..." you go over to good ol' Hunter's place, and BAM! Somebody got to him first! OR, he clammed up. And you NEED this guy to testify.
