For the cheerfully pessimistic detective!

1. Your client did it.

2. Buying Advanced Thread Analysis means that all threads immediately disappear from the crime scene.

3. The question you need answered most is the one the witness clams up on.

I'm sure more experienced players can add to the list. Care to have a go?

I have a couple.

If you have 200,000 experience but you haven't been able to get a PE contact, you will always get a string of WE townie favors even though your agency feeds you cases non stop.

When you finally do get a PE favor the person in particular will give you a Rasputin Egg instead of becoming your contact even if it is your 500th successfully solved case. *then remembers Ben made the likelihood of getting your missing contact much easier once you cross the 150K threshold*

Your agency tells you to unequip, so they can borrow your clothes. They then tell you to equip the rasputin eggs. Then they kick you out and sending you pm's such as "How are you're eggs doing? Keeping you warm outside, while you're alone forced to live on the streets?" or "If you tell Ben, or anybody about this we will bribe the moderators to make you retire, then ban your IP!"

Would someone actually do that?

I don't know if someone has mentioned this already...

...but I hate it when you get three pieces of PE that are the same and you don't have that contact (for example, three hairs). Which is fine ...

EXCEPT....
... the one detailed piece of PE is for your contact... you ask who it belongs to, then that person has an alibi with the townsperson you need to ask about the other PE (for example, the barber)!! GRR!

THEN they clam up... you get one question or have to bribe straight off....
Even GRR-er!

It gets worse...

This happens on a Favour you need for the hunt that took a long time to get!!! Most GRR-er!

*thinks for the slightest second about going back to playing Egg vs Chicken then realises that it makes Sleuth GRRs look like yummy icecream and leaves the boards happy*

Mmmmm yummmyyyyyy icecreaaammmmmmmmmmmm

I've found a new corollary of Murphy's Laws of Sleuth-- it's called the Screw-gee Corollary.

Any time you purchase an advanced analysis skill and immediately try a case on a higher difficulty than attempted before, you will receive one piece of evidence of your new analysis type which will match 9 people out of 9.

*Just bought adv. footprint analysis, jumped from inred. hard to stupen. hard, first case, 1 heavy footprint, 9 people, ALL HEAVY...*

This is more like a minor irritation than a full-fledged grrrrr, but when Lock-Picking on your client reveals the same bloody names the intro gave you...or when asking the motive question and the first 8 suspects give you one name and the ninth gives you 6 of the ones you just asked...either of those make me want to run outside and key someone's car just to restore the balance of the universe.

Your client did it and is willing to shoot at you if you get too close to solving it.
