Hehe, sorry Ran, but I think your calculations might be a bit off. I know the skill point system might well have changed along the way, but based on personal experience I'm not that close to 5,000,000 but could still have all the existing skills if I wanted to including a bunch of skill points to spare - and by a bunch I mean in the area of 70 - but then again things could have changed along the way :)

Actually Greyling that is the new number. People who joined after the introduction of AI cases seem to be at my rate of skill points. Those older detectives from previous to that expansion earned at a different rate.

I know of several old... err, detectives from an older Sleuthville, that have fewer XP but do have all the available skills.

Oh, okidoki - I knew there had been some changes, but didn't know the difference was that big.

And nice save by the way :D

All of you with these extra skills could give them to a newbie like me:)

Actually I kinda think it'd be a neat idea if we could give unused skill points to other detectives, new recruits or whatnot...good incentive for attracting people to agencies, subscriptions etc. At Casa Blanca (and I'm sure many other agencies) we've been giving cash bonuses...to me this seems like a logical extension of that.

Not a bad idea but, I really wouldn't want to give my unused skill points to new recruits. Part of the fun was building them up myself...it created a challenge. To me, that would make it too easy. Maybe if there was a limit to how much u could give them, that would be ok but, not to just keep handing it to them. Just my opinion :) I do think it would be great to use them somehow, but not that hehe

How much would skill points be worth? what would be a "fair market value"?

I can imagine paying a fairly hefty price, especially in the middle range where they start to come fewer and farther between.

If they come at a rate of 1 per every 50,000 XP (I think that is the slowest rate) that is the equivalent of how much in dollars? If they were AI cases it would only amount to about 10,000 in reward money.

I would think 10K is too little to charge for one Skill point, but I do not have a good feel for what the right number is.

The reason I am thinking along the lines of pricing is because sharing is a bad idea. Rather than think of it as older detectives giving to younger ones look at it from a production point of view.

You earn them faster at the lower XP. Start a new detective, sub them, equip them, turn in a bunch of cases in that first week/month and then hand over all those Skill points to a main detective. Do that ten or so times and you can have enough skill points sent to one detective to have all the skills with out any real work to get to that point.

Lots of unintended consequences with minor rule changes.

With my unspent skill points I would like to buy trap detection. Take ALL my unspent skill points I don't care it would be worth it. I'm rubbing my magic bottle now hoping Ben will pop out and grant my wish.

Seconded! Like you, I don't care how many skill points it takes. Make us jump through a couple of mission hoops as well, if you like.
