I though that a new faction could be added to the game "police". And with a really special skill.

What about if a detective could be arrested after a false accusation, to a determined period/ number of turn (time to clear the detective).

The new skill allow an agency menber to free him immediately( limited one use/a week ).

It add interrest to agengy and could influence hunts issue too.

what do you think of this idear?

This man hunt and baby kidnapping sound good.

Can we make the items more unique? Instead of having a +2 in Charm/Smart/Toughness, why can't we have something like +5 or +10 to politics? Or something like "master key" which enables detectives to gain lock picking skills and "newspaper" to gain research skills, etc...
Or "poker cards" to gain contacts with the fortune teller??

Not sure about having the police as a faction... Everybody knows they work for whoever pays them the most. One day they're in the mob's back pocket, next day they're having their strings pulled by the freemasons (Dies Arcanum parallel?), next day they're taking bribes from politicians.

Seriously though, I'm new to the game, but I'm not sure how a new faction would upset the balance of the game. Hertz's ideas (particularly the idea of an item that increases political alignment) are interesting, but there is a natural aversion around here to anything that makes this game easier. In my view this is a very good thing.

Neritinas ideas sound interesting though, especially the idea kidnapping cases. Worth playing with, methinks.

My brain is starting to turn round now.

Be afraid.

I don't like the idea of kidnapping because I would miss playing my cases :(

Just being curious... Actually, in the real world, if the waitress/barber...etc accepted bride or being treathened by the murderer, they can tell you that the alibi was real. I doubt the honesty of those people! I think I've got bored asking for alibi everytime from the same people...

Well, the thing is that this isn't the real world, it's a game, there has to be some way of solving the mystery, so some things have to be constant and some have to be random. The townies are constant, they never lie.

Hertz, don't you mean Tarot cards more than Poker cards for the Fortune Teller? It only makes sense. Damn you, Miss Cleo.

Steve, maybe we can get the suspects to accept brides to answer our questions too?

Well Luniar, most of the fortune tellers that I've encountered in the street doesn't use tarot cards.

Well, Tarot cards would be more associated with Fortune Tellers/Psychics than poker cards.
