Too many people have fake alibis...in real life who the hell would want to give a fake alibi to a detective if he is innocent? In my case 3 people had fake alibis.
Too many people clamm up upon the FIRST time I ask them a question. FIRST time. In my case, FOUR people clammed up when I asked them the FIRST question.

Those two in one case, already makes my case impossible. If you can figure out how to do my case I would give you 1000 bucks

Is my luck just bad? Or my detective sucks?

It gets better when you get more skills -though you have to solve some cases to get those :( - The best advise i can give you is to think what question you should ask first and choose your skills wisely. Maybe you can do easier cases to get some skills?

Good luck!

It sounds like you tryed to do cases above your level. Go down for a while till you build the right skills and get some equipment.

Your detective doesn't suck. Smart and charming is a good pick. It is now a matter of following the advise above, particularly as to not playing above the level you can comfortably do.

A step by step approach is the best thing to do. Not go with 150 experience, not so good equipment, and little skills...trying to solve more advanced cases. You likely hinder the process of building your agents, because of quitting cases, spending a lot of cash on equipment and buying off falses.

Meanwhile, if you visit the newbie message board. You will see a lot of advise, as to how to build a good agent. Like what are good skills to get.

Wait 'til you get into the harder levels of the game, b-ballmastah. One person per case randomly runs away. :D And if the person isn't the murderer or doesn't even know who the murderer is, THAT'S blasphemous! :)

I can figure out what are the good skills to get and I already got my mind set on the next one I am going to spend on. :) So far, I have

sweet talking
interogation
thread anylisis
hair anylisis
rule bending
advance rule bending
judge of character

I am thinking to get advance sweet talking next.

I play all the hard missions, maybe this is a bit too high for me? I am willing to learn as I have plenty of free time and can be very active. I also would love to get into one of those alliance thing and start treasure hunting >:)

agencies can really really help advance a person's exp and skill points. Passing a case to get some help is one of the best advantages for a improving detective.

And do NOT forget research! WAY Important.

Looks like your next pick should be more smart skills and higher charm skills. If you find that you need to have more clues about evidence to solve a game, get smart skills (like footprint analysis), if you find that the problem is more related to people clamming get the additional sweet talking (if it is related to suspects clamming), of rule bending (if it is towns people causing the problem.)

You got interrogation, don't get any of the tough skills. This with exception of lock picking at some point.

*decides she wants a vote too*

I'd say flirting, it gives you that dashing smile worth +20charm that the opposite sex rarely can resist.

Or...I'd agree with Rock and say research. But then, when I start a new detective, the first skill I purchase is research. :)

*waves her hand at all the voices telling her that the interview skills are more important*

I know, I know, I've heard it before, but it just depends on how you play. Me, I need that research, it completes the box that holds everything together.
