Agency Advertising Suggestion

Just another one of my ideas.

I glance at the detectives who bump and create multiple topics to advertise their agencies. In order to decrease duplicate topics (there shouldn't be more than one topic about an agency) for agency advertisement, I realized that a small space below each detective's posts--like a signature in most message boards--would be ideal for advertising space. Not much space, but basically, limited character space (300 characters?), a link to the agency of that detective, that detective's rank in the agency, and a bit of free space to write in. For example, all of my posts could end like:

---------------------------------------

Arkain Detective Agency -- Director
The Arkain Detective Agency was founded July 17th, 2005, delivering reasonable business with 3897 fame and 0 treasure(s) found. Looking for three detectives with at least 1500 experience and the ability to play daily.

Personally, I think that detectives that aren't in agencies are looking for success. If you show them that there's open space and great success, they'll jump on it like a fly on a bug zapper. I hope.

And jstkdn, perhaps 100 or 150 characters?

I would rather just have advertising in the recruitment thread. It makes it load much faster on my computer with less text.

We are supposed to be detectives, and personally, if someone can't click the few clicks it takes to find out about my agency, they are probably too lazy to have come work for me.....

It's not just length. I think it distracts, and makes things look cluttered. Also, the sig files would be off topic on the message boards, except the recruitment thread (which already contains that info.) The sig files would even have a complete different topic, then the message that was posted above.

Also, I think the majority of people on the message board, are not looking to join a new agency.

I donno. I always thought the recruitment board worked very well? It is a forum, where people place advertisements to get new agents. So those that are looking to hire, or be hired...automatically go there.

The problem is, there are more people looking for new agents, then that there are new agents. The community once discussed if starting a new agency should become harder, or be capped. This prevent not all agencies filling up properly. Though a pain. We all agreed, it would just be really unfair to prevent newcomers to start a new agency.

Maybe improve the recruitment board itself?
I donno....I'm not creative.

I agree with all that was said. The ads should stay on that board only.
I would'nt want to read it unless Im looking for agency or for new agents.
Only thing to do is ask people not to create multipile threads for the same agency, over and over again. But instead bump the old thread till the info on it wouldnt fit anymore, then make new thread.

Another idea rejected. Oy.

But the way I see it, people looking for the best agency aren't going to want to click a few times. They're going to be lazy and not want to click at all. And if they see a significant number of fame or treasures found, they'll jump to join. Yeah, I'm supporting the lazy/tired.

If a detective has any ambition, a few clicks wont hurt him/her. If a detective can't make a few clicks to find about "my" agency, then they pretty much are too lazy to help better "my" agency, like succeeding in treasure hunts, etc. So, I'm very happy with the way it is now :o)
