Not always, but if they say who knows who the murderer is, go ahead and use the questions, but I wouldn't make any eliminations based on their "no" responses. Most of the time, if they say that Willard (just as an example) knows who the murderer is, and if Willard isn't exactly a person who reveals many questions, chances are he really knows who the murderer is.

Also, you can use that to narrow down suspects. If one of your suspects "knows" who the murderer is and he says no to all of your other suspects, he is one to check out. This is NOT always the case, so don't automatically accuse, but I find it a good benchmark a good portion of the time.

Yah, I just solved a case whereby he knows who's the murderer which infact he himself is the murderer. Haha...

The shopkeepers won't lie to you, but the suspects will.
If a shopkeeper says someone thinks knows something, that means that suspect will point the finger to someone, but it doesn't mean the suspect will be truthful.
If a shopkepper says that so and so knows nothing, there is no point in asking them if they heard or saw anything, but they'll always say no.
Hope that helps.
