Idea --- Trade & NYC Market

I don't know whether these ideas have been presented/proposed before, but two things have crossed my mind...:

<(Trade)>
Perhaps a trade feature would be a nice new step for paying Sleuth users. The ability to trade would mean trading items for items, or perhaps money for items, providing that there are a couple of confirmation sequences for both participants to reduce problems.

<(NYC Stock Market)>
This idea is less... necessary, but as a perk for being located in New York, perhaps users could invest money in companies and/or townies. If it were to be companies, the possibilities are open-ended; I don't know how to explain that further. If it were to be townies, bribes that Sleuth detectives hand over would raise the value of the stock for that townie. Of course, you could place stocks in townies for any city. My idea for this is rather vague, but it could possibly increase the addictivity of the game.

OH! I forgot my last idea!

<(Family Contacts)>
Have you seen the same families over and over again? Are you wondering "what is wrong with these Tibbys!?" Well, I propose that--rarely--cases can win you a family contact. That family will answer one more question or have their base persuasion numbers boosted 5-10.

For example, perhaps you investigate the killing of Seymour Sloane. Your client is his sister, Anita Sloane. A twist shows that she is becoming desperate and tells you that the Sloane family would be grateful for the case to be solved. However, if the murderer turns out to be a Sloane, you will not get the contact. Also, limit one contact family per detective.

These are all GREAT ideas. I'm sure admin appreciates all suggestions to make his job even more involved!
Great ideas all the same, sometimes it's fun to change things up a little.

To make his job even more involved, as well as financially rewarding. Hehe. I'm glad I'm getting positive feedback. And not "...BLASPHEMY!"

Well, I'm afraid I have been accused of blasphemy a few times myself, so I'm not sure if I'm a good one to gauge your sacreligious quotion by.

This stuff has been brought up before, I did once as well. The outcome of the community as a whole was, that there should not be any features implemented that makes the game easier then it already is. Every time someone comes with a suggestion to make the game easier, we seem to come to the same conclusion. This in order to retain interest in the game. Right now obtaining equipment takes luck, effort, time, patience and skill.

In addition trading equipment, is also a game element that is part of agencies. The team effort is required. No team effort, no equipment.

Also the possibility of being able to exchange equipment, is part of the additional features you get for being a paid member. (There has got to be a difference, for those that pay to keep this game running + there has to be an incentive to subscribe. All the subscription money goes actually to hardware and software....Ben doesn't make a dime. That includes not getting a dime for his hours.) All paid members are generally in agencies, so have the possibility to sell and exchange.

I do think it would be nice. To have auctions. For isntance exchange my zoot suit, for a cape. Giving it no more or less points (i.e. it won't make me game easier or harder.) But having clothes, that are unique and no one else has.

On the bright side. Play this game long enough, and you see each piece of equipment float by, more then you care to. :)

Don't ask me where I saw it, it was one of my late night stupors...but somewhere, buried in time, Ben once suggested that if he did an auction, the equipment would degenerate over time.

This sounds like work and hassle for everyone. Ben's time making it all happen and us constantly having to replace equipment.

And I'm not digging for that thread.

No they are good ideas. But unfortunately they make the game easier.

Well, the stock exchange might work like the Shanghai race track - a way to wager a little money, maybe make some extra money for Shady - and add a new dimension to the game without needing to make the case-solving easier

I think it should be done like the factions. Not giving more money, but a special skill for the day you are on top of the stock exchange and your name on the books as top dog. Or only earn a little cash, when you are top of the stock exchange. Not for everybody to get money automatically.
