How do YOU Sleuth, I ask? :O Do you memorize alibis, etc., open Notepad, or what? Personally, I open Notepad. It makes the Sleuthing process much easier for me.

Just to back you up, Luniar, I'm a Notepad man, myself.

I tried holding my notes in short-term, but one instant message, one knock on my door, one Family Guy joke, and *poof!*

Couldn't risk it anymore!

Yes! Finally. A point for the Notepads!

I had the same problem as you, man. IMs and such took me away from my Sleuthing some of the time, so I forgot information... entirely. Especially on these harder cases. Six suspects' information is one thing, but eleven suspects' information is another.

I should mention that Sleuth helper is organised and worded the way my brain works... so if it's not to your liking (in terms of wording or layout), it's relatively easy to modify.

It was created using Notepad (yes, go Notepad) and html, so if you know a bit of html, you could quite easily change things around (for instance: changing 'restaurant' to 'waitress').

Right now if I had to pick. Number 1 would be no note taking what so ever, except during important favours for a treasure hunt. Number 2, would be Naomi's tool. :)

At home (which means, not here, frankly) I use the Quicknote extension for Firefox as to have a Notepad built into the browser. Besides, that means I can save notes even if I don't have enough time to finish my case. Firefox also has the advantage of what I call a dumb trick: it can go from one 'actor' to the next without having to go through the map screen.

PS: Naomi, what a great tool! I've modified it for my own use, but thanks so very much for creating it.

Hmm in answer to the original question, I started off with word, and then i realised that was taking too long! so i now use pen and paper. You actually dont need that much info written on each case. the main thing i keep a note of is whether alibis are true or not.

That's Quicknote. I absolutely love it :) It runs off textfiles, so you can always move things around later

The dumb trick requires another extension called Rewind/Fast Forward
