I know I've posted before about the hostile faces for the suspects, but this is different. Just recently today, I did three cases. Well, five people overall, I failed to persuade them. Problem is, I was counting on them. And... the percentages were as follows: 94, 93, 94, 97, 98. Is anyone else having this problem? Because, this seems beyond the works of a "bad day." Because of these failures, I failed a favor case. So I have to relinquish all of my money to the Shady Character. Yeah. Instead of being $3200 richer, or an increase in stats, I'm $17000 in the hole. Well, I shouldn't call it "in the hole"; I almost have it. *sigh* I failed a Really Hard favor case. Meanwhile, I'm normally closing Incredibly Hard cases rather quickly. Call this a rant if you wish, but it isn't to me. I'd say "it just isn't my day", but it is. I'm finally Father Inquisitor of the DAB.

gradbeth, I wouldn't rush to get it. Your interview and smart skills will serve you much better when working a case. Skill points become more scare the more experience you have, so choose your skills carefully.

Reda, my question is, "is anyone else having this stroke of... ominously bad luck? Or is it even bad luck at all?" Sorry if I hid the question in the rant. I picked Judge of Character initially so that if I saw a high percentage, I would feel secure that I would get information; when I see percentages in the mid-90's, if it fails once, that's okay, but if it fails five times consecutively... that's confusing.

Sorry I didnt see your question ;) Its probably just bad luck. But I see you are in an agency. I suggest you will use the locker and switch to all charm/tough (whatever you use) when doing the case. That way you will have higher precentage. Mine is ussually above 100 which makes sure they wont clam on me right away :)

I'm assuming that the higher the percentage, two things occur?:
1. They do not immediately clam-up
2. They will be willing to answer a varying number of questions beyond this point

I've noticed that some people will answer only 1 more question for me and others will answer around 3-4. Is this correct?

Also, mine run in the upper 50's, but I have a lot of success usually. I'm wondering to what has happened with Luniar. Were there maybe other factors countering these - given that it was a favor or some such?

I took Judge Character so that I can decide whether to use my intimidate or sweet talk. I usually only get one shot, so I like to make it a good one. ;-) Not with this character, but with Deborha Lee.

The numbers in Judge of Character aren't percentages, as I've seen them as high as 130. The higher the number the better the chance of success defiitely. However I have had fails at up to around 110 on Almost Impossible cases.

And yes the higher the number, the more questions that they will answer. However the numbers needed vary from suspect to suspect. One suspect will answer 1 question with a score of 95 and another might answer 2 and yet a third will clam up.

V Buster~
Are you sure that's not a bug, V Buster? I mean, I'd think it would be easier to calculate and operate if they functioned as percentages... Of course, I could be wrong. Probably am. Hope someone understands what I mean.

I figured the higher the number, the more additional questions answered.

Reda~
I think I'm ready to let it go. But you have to admit, it's a frustrating experience. Especially when a high percentage determines whether the "yes, I solved the case"/"aw, God, I was so close!" comes next. And that's just it; my percentages are usually 100+ or 95-98. My favor cases have moved up a difficulty level, so I've been getting fresh items/more money, so I can finally lower Smarts the slightest bit and raise Charm quite a bit. ^^;

*too tired to dig...* Somewhere, there is a thread and Ben says that the closer to 100, the more likely hood of them answering additional questions as well.

On AI's if I get 130 or so I generally get 3 questions, 120 or usually gets me 2.

However I have gotten 2-3 questions from as low as 85 with some suspects.

But yes, generally the higher the number the better.
