messages during cases

When you get messages about things like "theres more to *so and so* then meets the eye", what should you do? I remember people getting mad at me because their kid was lost ors omething and i put the kidnapper in jail. Is there any incentive for quitting the case instead when you get these messages?

No, the only cutscenes that have any influence on your detective are the ones with the woman holding a spyglass as these will affect your standings with some of the political factions - and so if f.ex. you don't want to go down 1 point with a particular faction, quitting such a case will be the best option of avoiding that.

they are talking about the cutscenes you get during cases, not about pop-ups.
