Is there a formula or rule when it comes to the cost of cleaning your record? I had 1 false accusation and i check to see how much it would cost to clean my record and it was about $2k. I didn't have anything near that kind of money so i wait. I solve a few more cases and now i have about $2500. I check the bar out and now the price is $3k for one single false accusation! Whats the rule with this?

You are best to wait until u have two false accusations, then pay Shady. The higher your experience goes, the higher the cost of Shady. So it gets worse than what you see there! How well I know! hehe
Remember that you are better off quitting a case, than guessing since the cost to pay Shady does get extreme as you go along!

But Makensie makes a good point. It costs the same to clear one or two false accusations, so its probably best to wait until you get a second one - although it will cost more by then, since you will have more experience, you will only have to pay once rather than twice.

If you are having cash flow problems, try doing the easy cases. They are only woth 20 exp and it will slow down your skill points, but it will also slow down Shady's price hikes enough that you should be able to pay him off.
While I have not seen an acutal formula, buried deep in the subscriber services (for those that are subscribed) Ben once said that it is not a linear formula, but geometric, so that the percentage Shady takes drops the higher the your exp gets. Shady still wants almost 1/2 million from me though. :)
