This is the thread that should include discussion about the content, beginning, ending, deaths (possible), and new characters in the book.

Spoilers may not be posted in another thread unless that thread has "(WARNING: SPOILERS)" in the title.

More I forgot to mention . . .

A new character called Felix Felices may also be in the book (hence the chapter listed in the above post). Yet nobody knows about him (if he is a new character).

If you look at the book's cover (either the Bloomsbury or American Scholastic edition), Dumbledore is pictured for the first time . . . in the Bloomsbury, he is caught in a ring of fire with Harry looking frightened . . . and in the American Scholastic, he and Harry are observing a cauldron's misty green content. So what does this mean? It means that something regarding potions will be explained in the book. Professor Snape may be a vital character in the HBP, so perhaps he is the next victim in the book? Or could Dumbledore sacrifice his life for Harry's well-being . . .? This makes the story's plot thicken dramatically.

Harry could die in the next book . . . but J.K. Rowling already said there would be a Seventh. So Harry has to survive this book in order to be in the last one.

Let me re-write the last part of the above post:

"That's all. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is coming out on July 16. Don't wait to get it. Pottermania is begining all over again . . ."

That's all I know. Go to www.wikipedia.org , search "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," and there should be some more details on the book and the rumours.

Bloomsbury children's books released the back cover for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," and the following blurb:

"It is the middle of summer, but there is an unseasonal mist pressing against the windowpanes. Harry Potter is waiting nervously in his bedroom at the Dursleys' home in Privet Drive for a visit from Professor Dumbledore himself. One of the last times he saw the Headmaster was in a fierce one-to-one duel with Lord Voldemort, and Harry can't quite believe that Professor Dumbledore will appear at the Dursleys of all places. Why is the Professor coming to visit him now? What is it that cannot wait until Harry returns to Hogwarts in a few weeks' time? Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts has already got off to an unusual start, as the worlds of Muggle and magic start to intertwine..."

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," will be released at one minute past midnight tomorrow at bookstores across North America. The above blurb will be used for Bloomsbury's children's edition of the anticipated Harry Potter book.

WARNING: SPOILER!!!!

Just finished the book...OMG! I just knew that jerk-o was evil the whole damn time. *grrr* I LOATHE friggin' Snape. But the book on the whole was awesome, methinks. It was certainly an enjoyable read, even if the whole half-blood prince aspect of it turned out to be kinda anti-climatic. Of course, being the impatient little imp that I am, I can't wait for book 7. Did everyone else enjoy it as well?

*cried profusely in the funeral chapter*

I loved the book. I always thought Snape was evil, but I really hoped he wouldn't be, since Dumbledore trusted him. I couldn't help but cry a little at the end. Now I have to wait for the next one, I only hope it comes out soon.

I think everyone is taking this at face value. There is nothing that suggests Snape is actually evil.

After I read the last book, I definitely think he is. One, he broke Dumbledore's trust. Two, he killer "somone" important. Three, he even tried to kill the others, except Harry who he said is for Voldermort. I just figure that in order to kill, you must have something evil inside you. Why do you believe he is not evil, I am very interested, especially if I didn't notice something important.

Well, its just the way you interpret his actions. There is no real indication that he broke Dumbledores trust. I mean its highly plausible he is evil but it would be foolish to totally discount other options.

As much as I've never liked Snape, he's never been 'evil' before. I'm not sure what to think of him - JRK before seemed to be advocating the idea to look past appearences, and now THIS happens! Snape, I'm pretty sure, was bound by that Unbreakable Vow for the purposes of killing Malfoy. I have to wonder, though, would he have done it without the vow?

Yes, that is true. If he hadn't helped Malfoy, he would have died. Maybe he is also afriad of death.

Wow, I was posting way to late at night. I meant killing Dumbledore, not Malfoy!
