Oooo yes, I've been thinking about Cairo and Casablanca too - as well as Paris, Havana, Buenos Aires and Chicago - and Istanbul like Micky Sticks also mentioned somewhere in another thread - *lol* - poor Ben, he's done so much already and we keep wanting more :D

I was originally planning on Shanghai and Cairo.
Shanghai was literally an international city at the time, austensibly under the influence various European nations, but not really a colony. Much of the real power lay in the hands of a small number of merchant families called The Hongs, many of whom had close connections to the Triads.
As I said, I was leaning towards Cairo as the fourth city. It's a fascinating city with plenty of political and underworld intriqgue to work with. I also wanted to have a good geographic spread between cities. I started to run into problems finding period photos that could work for Cairo though. I just didn't find enough useful images on the internet.
At the time, Sunny had just read a book called The Game, by Laurie King (great book by the way, for all you Holmes fans). It was set in Colonial India and she suggested that we use Bombay (Mumbai) as the fourth city. I started gathering images, and had plenty to use, but I couldn't find a good map of Bombay that was similar enough in style to the maps we've used for the other cities. I did, however, find a nice abstract map of Dehli to use. So, that's how we ended up with Dehli.

Yes, but can't I get any good take out chinese food in Shang hai? :) :) :)
Interesting to read Ben, how you got to all these choices. I figured it had something to do with maps and images. It didn't occur to me that they'd be good sleuth type cities. (because I am dumb that way.)
